It's a movie.

The movie is an attempt to dirty the image of Jesus Christ.
I would never support such shit.
They didn't even base it on anything.

But you know, controversy sells.....

For the record, I have no problem with Jesus getting pussy as this movie suggests. I have a problem with the lie, or any false information about the life of Jesus.

So based on nothing....

The bible never says whether he died a virgin or not.
It is only people who assume he did.
Which I think is wrong, too many so-called Christians put their beliefs in assumptions.

The problem that I have with the movie is that it portrays a romance that never accurred in Jesus's life.
(speakin on the characters in the movie)
Sort of like if someone releases a movie about Buddha and a false romance he had.
Why release something that's false?

It can only mean one out of the 2 following things:
1) the producers know that controversy sells.
2) the producers are trying to alter the perception of everyone's image of Christ.

"The problem that I have with the movie is that it portrays a romance that never accurred in Jesus's life. "

That is because this movie is not supposed to be the real story of Jesus. It is fiction and in the movie he sees what it is like if he would have chosen a different path... Do some research on this movie at google.com please

the movie was based on the book of the same title written by Nikos Kazantzakis, who if i'm not mistaken was a priest. and the romance never occured between them in the movie's reality. when he was dying on the cross, satan concaucted it, to try to fool jesus into believeing he wasn't the messiah. but jesus pulled through in the end, and got back on his cross.

from the author:

This was the Last Temptation which came in the space of a lightning flash to trouble the Savior's last moments.

But all at once Christ shook his head violently, opened his eyes, and saw. No, he was not a traitor, glory be to God! He was not a deserter. He had accomplished the mission which the Lord had entrusted in him. He had not married, had not lived a happy life. He had reached the summit of sacrifice: he was nailed upon the Cross.

Content, he closed his eyes. And then there was a great triumphant cry: It is accomplished!

In other words: I have accomplished my duty, I am being crucified. I did not fall into temptation...

This book was not written because I wanted to offer a supreme model to the man who struggles; I wanted to show him that he must not fear pain, temptation or death - because all three can be conquered, all three have already been conquered. Christ suffered pain, and since then pain has been sanctified. Temptation fought until the very last moment to lead him astray, and Temptation was defeated. Christ died on the Cross, and at that instant death was vanquished forever.

Every obstacle in his journey became a milestone, an occasion for further triumph. We have a model in front of us now, a model who blazes our trail and gives us strength.

This book is not a biography; it is the confession of every man who struggles. In publishing it I have fulfilled my duty, the duty of a person who struggled much, was much embittered in his life,
and had many hopes. I am certain that
every free man who reads this book, so filled as it
is with love, will more than ever before,
better than ever before, love
Christ.

you have come to your conclusion without studying it's history or at least reading the directors purpose. & by the way, this movie wasn't no blockbuster and didn't sell too well when it came out as I recall...
What's there to study?
The director simply tries to do what Pilot did and wash his hands by making it clear that the movie isn't an accurate account of the gospels.
He claims that the movie is based on what might have been Jesus's emotions. Which is contradicted by Jesus's philosophy when he says that you do not have to commit the sin in order for it to be a sin. It is already a sin in your mind.
Therefore Jesus wouldn've never lusted for Mary the prostitute he saved....
Remember the title of the movie????
The last "temptation" of Jesus Christ.
Temptation being the keyword, according to Jesus, temptation is a sin. Satan tried to tempt Jesus in the desert, but he failed. He never tempted Jesus.
Which underlines my point, Jesus was never tempted by anything....
And that makes this movie irrelevant....

All of this leaves me to conclude that the guy behind this movie wanted to cash in on the controversy he thought the movie was going to cause. Either that or he's the fruit of Satan who's only trying to dirty Jesus's legacy.

To you or any non-believer, this isn't a big deal.
But to those who have faith, we understand that any dirt thrown at Jesus is very serious. Even if it's just a small spec of dust....

^nice point. it was still a good FICTIONAL flick. nice set design. cinematography, costumes. i try watch movies from a directors point of view, so i enjoyed it. from a religious point of view, sure i'd have a few quams if i was going by strict gospel, but i believe that god is in complete control, and whatever comes forth it's because god willed it. whether it be a "blasphemous" movie or a new double cheeseburger from mc donalds that has a special sauce, or a son to die on the cross for man's salvation. i don't beleve in accidents. and some might say well satan just made it happen. i think the only power satan has is the power god gave him. god is in complete control. so if the movie was made, it was because it was supposed to :dead:
