its obvious he didnt get cashed out enough for this album.
in no way is the jacka a bad rapper. hes one of the best out the bay right now.
but if you dont cash him out, dont expect a good album.
im sure his next solo is going to be solid.
If this is true, it's one of the biggest problems within the rap game. Let's face it, 99.9% of Bay Area rappers are unheard of outside their region. I've done my share of research & have traveled out of state as well. I've named off rappers that are looked & praised in here to people in the street & they all say, "No, never heard of him." Hence: Drawing my personal conclusion in not paying for verses from unknown artist. I say that respectfully in the sense that the sales pitch is, "It's an investment" or "You'll sell more units with my name on it." It seriously doesn't add up.
Every artist needs to love the game first & everything else will fall in it's place. The big problem now is artist want a certain amount of money & if they don't get that, they don't put their all. In the end, their shooting themselves in the foot because perhaps you have a potential fan that listens to that certain album, feature (whatever) and the first impression you gave that person is, your garbage.
Okay, love don't pay the bills nor put food on the table, but then again, neither does trash. It's become a lazy game with artist thinking their actually famous & wanting to be paid like it. It was all promising in the late 90's early 2000's, but not today.
If artist got out that zone of "I'm famous, I'm blowing up, this is how I eat" etc. and put that hunger into their music instead of focusing on how much money they're going to get for this or day dreaming on how much units they're gonna sell when it drops, it would perhaps turn this game around, but the reality is... it'll never happen. Too much egos and hardheaded people thinking their next album is gonna make it. By continuing to put out garbage, you got to understand that there is a strong possibility you won't get that second chance. So always put your all into it no matter what. And quit killing the independent game slowly by saturating it with your garbage simply because you think you need to be paid x amount of dollars.
