CAN SOMEONE POST THE HOTBOYS FIRST ARTICLE INTERVIEW WITH THE SOURCE MAG WHEN THEY TALKED ABOUT THAT 30 MILLION DISTRIBUTION DEAL??? IF NO ONE HAS IT THEN CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THAT 30 MILLION DOLLAR DEAL CONSIST OFF?? I WAS JUST LITTLE CURIOUS ABOUT IT...

RIGHT BUT DIDN'T CASH MONEY HAVE TO PAYBACK THAT MONEY BEFORE THE 4 YEAR CONTRACT WAS UP?? IF SO HOW ARE THEY GOING TO PAYBACK THE 100 MILLION THEY JUST SIGNED FOR BACK IN 2002 FOR ANOTHER 4 YEAR DEAL WITH UNIVERSAL???

Basically what a 30 mil distibution deal means is that the major label is funding the distribution of the albums cashmoney records put out....cash money makes the albums and the major label puts up the money to get the album put in stores. if cash money sells well then everybody wins because the major label makes money and cash money makes a lot more money than they would in a traditional record deal.... distribution deals are really hard to get.

they do not have to pay anything back. the major label is putting the money as an investment. besides, im pretty sure the major label got their money out of the deal...maybe not as much as the wanted, but they took home something. in these types of deals cashmoney doesnt have to go platinum on all their releases for the major to profit. as long as they stay in the 100k's the major see money...if they make more it gets lucrative for both cashmoney and the major
