the hiss sound is annoying

sup homies,

anyone know how to get rid of a hiss sound in the computer? i know it's coming somewhere between my mixer and the computer... it cant be the keyboard or the speakers. if anyone knows, please help! everything i burn on CD has a hiss sound in the background... all bad. i was thinking maybe it's the cables but what else can it possibly be? the sound card i have is an M-audio... do i need to make any adjustments?

IS YOUR SOUND CARD A DELTA 1010??? MIXER SOMETIMES MIGHT BE ON THE WRONG SETTING,OR SOMETIMES CEHCKING ALL YOUR CABLES HELP.I HAD TO GET EVERYTHING GOLD PLATED NOW HISS IS VERY MINIMAL.

YOU STILL HAVENT MENTIONED WHAT TYPE OF SOUNDCARD OR AUDIO INTERFACE YOU USE....IF YOUR RUNNIN ON THE STANDARD SOUNDCARD THAT CAME WIT YOUR COMP IM WILLIN TO BET THAS THE PROBLEM RIGHT THERE.....GET A GOOD SOUNDCARD AND YOUR HISS WILL GO AWAY...

what up CC, the soundcard i'm using is M-AUDIO... i paid 3 bills on it so it better be a good soundcard. that hiss thing isn't loud unless i play it in a damn good quality sound system. all bad.
