Whenever I hear the word "POP"... I think of the uncle on National Lampoons... chilling in front of his trailer, and his daughter asking him for a POP.

But yeah I have never heard anyone in New York or New Jersey for that matter (I got fam in Newark) say pop.

LOL....same thing happened to me!

East Coast=soda
West Coast=pop
Midwest & South(some parts)=soda pop

Pop. Soda sounds real gay and country to me. I mean if u ever known a gay person, they love words with "s"s in them. Now that I live in Atlanta it irks the hell outta me when I hear a nigga say soda.

You're right I guess. I asked a couple chicks, and they said that they say SODA, but they're not originally from Phoenix. But, they said most people in Phoenix says POP.

So I asked this other chick, and she said she says POP, and even called it politically incorrect.

And the last girl I asked said SODA, but she says her older brother would "POP her" when she said POP, and that made her train herself not to say POP. Again, she said most other people in PHX say POP.

I guess that's enough proof for me. Down here though, at least on the Westside and Southside, I'm positive nobody says POP.

What part of DC u stayin at??? I aint never heard a foo say "pop" in DC or Baltimore or anywhere in this area for that matter. Only time I ever heard it referred to as pop is whenever I visit my family up in the 206 when I used to stay out in Cali. I think most folks out here in md-va-dc area just call it coke cuz most places got coke

I REMEMBER WHEN I MOVED TO PORTLAND FROM SAC A FEW YEARS AGO AND PEOPLE WOULD BE LIKE " IMMA GO GET ME A POP" AND IM LIKE WHAT THE FUCK IS POP ?! ITS A SODA !! THAT SHIT USED TO BUG THE HELL OUTTA ME. GLAD IM BACK HOME IN SAC EVEN THOUGH I MISS THE WEATHER UP THERE.
