Soda or Pop?

Ok man. This isn't the fucking 1930's I don't know why some people continue to say it this way, I guess it's a regional thing or maybe they're just plain stupid but how do you refer to a carbonated beverage usually high in it's fructose and syrup count. i prefer the term Soda not "Pop."

pop is actually used a lot in the midwest and east coast.
I don't know about the rest of the east coast but in New York they call it soda.

Last year my friend went with me on my yearly summer trip to NYC and asked for a pop from a street hot dog vendor. Home dude was like "I don't sell popsicles just hot dogs and soda" in a heavy ass east coast/italian accent, I was rolling.

But yeah I have never heard anyone in New York or New Jersey for that matter (I got fam in Newark) say pop.

but yeah i was hella thinkin bout this the other day...my co-worker says pop all da tiem and hes from new york...it erks me everytime he says it haha ... i say soda

when i visit some of family that lives in texas...down there if you ask them for a soda they look at you like an idiot...."you mean pop?" haha
