LOS ANGELES -- The rapper known as "The Game" pleaded no contest Monday to a felony charge of possession of a firearm in a school zone for pulling out a weapon after getting into a dispute at a pickup basketball game in South Los Angeles nearly a year ago.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Fred Wapner immediately sentenced Jayceon Terrell Taylor, 28, to 60 days in jail and gave him credit for two days he has already served.
Taylor also was ordered to perform 150 hours of community service and spend three years on probation.
The case stemmed from a Feb. 24 run-in with a man on an opposing team during a basketball game at the Rita Walters Educational Learning Complex.
Two other charges -- making criminal threats and exhibiting a firearm on the grounds of a facility for minors -- were dismissed as a result of the plea.
Taylor, who grew up in Compton, was arrested last May by Los Angeles police officers executing a search warrant at his Glendale home.
Taylor's debut CD, "The Documentary," featuring the hit singles, "How We Do" and "Hate It or Love It," earned him two Grammy Award nominations.
