I just saw in yesterday's paper that they're reopening the Emmett Till case after almost 50 years.
In case you dont know about this case, Till was a 14-year old black kid from Chicago who was brutally killed by some white men after he allegedly whistled at a white woman. 2 men were put on trial and found not guilty by an all-white jury, and 2 other accomplices were never tried.

The thing is that justice might get served. And those faggots are probably protected under the double jeopardy rule.

they're trying 2 different men who werent tried the first time, so its not double jeopardy. Like D-Boy said, the other two are dead.

what good does it do? i think it's good because it raises awareness about racism and it provides some closure to Till's family members.

Thanks. I wasn't aware some of these fuckers were still alive. But still if there are still 2 dudes alive they're too old already. They lived most of their lives with what I imagine to be a free conscience (sp).

Racism is already an everyday issue we have to deal with. I understand what you're trying to get across but the thing is many of us live with racism, either reverse, inderect, direct racism. As for closure to Till's family I suppose, but some of those fucks still got off scott free.

today racism is an everyday issue that people deal with, but back then it was much harder to "deal with." you're right, many of us are forced to "live with racism", but we've been lucky since we havent died from it like Till.
the way that this kid was brutalized was deplorable. if it happened today, it would be front page news but since it occured at a time when racism was the norm, the culprits not only got away with the crime, but the event recieved little attention from mainstream america.

I understand racism isnt as dangerous now as it used to be, but i like to think its more prevalent since no one challenges it as they used to, but that's getting off topic. I'm just pissed that these fucks are just now getting charged with these crimes and the worst thing is the chance they wont be convicted.

At least thru this, Emmett will still be remembered. I'm sure someone has the photo of what they did to that boy. His mother insisted on an open casket funeral so the world could see what those white men did to her son.
Fuck the White man!

Take OJ and R. Kelly. Multiply them by 10 million. That's .02% of how many white people have gotten off on hate crimes in America against people of color.

LOL @ your sig too by the way. A Black man in shackles seems to be right up your alley. Nazi.

Go fuck yourself you ingorant cunt. And where did you get .02% bullshit? Sounds like liberal proganda to me
