So you like vocals, eh?
Check this shit out http://www.purevolume.com/thedearhunter Listen to Battesimo Del Fuoco. This is the first song Casey Crescenzo, formerly of The Receiving End of Sirens, has released from his upcoming EP The Dear Hunter- Act I: The Lake South, The River North.
The album's out Septemeber 26th on Triple Crown Records, followed by an LP in Spring 07.

Oh yeah, he's making the entire album by himself, as he did with the demo. So that song is completely his vocals.

Nah, the Demo is completely different from the album. It's funny cuz the demo is probably in my top 3 favorite albums of all time.... AND IT'S A FUCKING DEMO!!! lol
The official demo is
Where the Road Parts
The Only One That Didn't Fold
Satisfaction
Red Hands
Ahh... An Epiphany
Evicted
Economics
Camera
Dear Ms. Leading
Black Sandy Beaches

The demo, and new album, are about a boy who falls in love with a girl who he eventually finds out is a prostitute. Takes place in like 1903. The LP is going to have a childrens' book to accompany the album, which is fucking hillarious.
If you go to the forums on www.fleethefactory.com you can check the Dear Hunter forums (as well as the TREOS forums) and talk to Casey himself, and his new backing band for the tours.

Just got the EP tracklist straight from Casey's fingers

Battesimo Del Fuoco
The Lake South
City Escape
The Inquiry of Ms. Terri
1878
The Pimp and the Priest (rofl)
His Hands Matched His Tongue (I'm hoping this is Red Hands finalized)
The River North

Also, the book is going to come out between the EP and LP, hopefully around xmas time.

This album is everything I wanted and more.
So far my favorites would have to be The Pimp & The Priest, City Escape, 1878, and His Hands Matched His Tongue.
Daniel Nigro, lead singer of As Tall As Lions sings on 1878.
I just read an interview with Casey that says this EP was just the outline of the story he has in mind. There's going to be at least 3 more LPs that are going to explain everything along with the childrens' book. From what I've gathered, it's about a boy born in the late 1800's whos mother is a whore, and he spends his life protecting her while trying to find out why she's had to resort to the way she is...

I didn't order it...but they had it at Easy Street records here in Seattle (they get more or less everything.) It's a really solid EP. Casey lays down some very nice vocals and there really isn't a song I don't like on the EP. 1878 is a great fucking song. Either that or The Pimp & The Priest is my favorite on the album.

Any idea of when the actual LP is going to drop Buzz?

Oh yeah and I just noticed we might have well just PM'd each other about this album...seeing we are the only two in the fucking thread lol. Anyone reading this should really check the album out though...great stuff.

Been trying to find it, I'm probably just gonna order it off Amazon since it's only $5. I've been listening to it a lot though on purevolume. The "1878" track is hands down my favorite rock song right now.

^^^ If you are feeling it a lot you should really check out Casey's (The Dear Hunter) old group The Receiving End of Sirens. They have one full length out called "Between the Heart and the Synapse" and it's a great album from front to back...not a single song that I skip over.

Make sure to check out the songs "Planning A Prison Break" and "This Armistice" They even got a great acoustic version of "This Armistice" up for download on their purevolume page too.

Originally Casey said 2nd quarter of 2007. But he hasn't comfirmed that lately. He is going to be using songs from the demo on the upcoming albums, so at least that means that's 10 or 11 songs already finished.
His website's finally up www.thedearhunter.com It says there's a video for Battesimo coming real soon.
