DOnt you know its wrong to worshp a symbol. Your IDOLIZING! And besides, do you know that the original form of crucifix meant an object like a pole, not a cross like you see everyone wearing. IDOLIZERS BURN!!!

We don't worship an idol. It simply a reminder what our Saviour has done for us. We don't sit around and worship the cross. That's what it means to me anyways...

I always tripped out on how many Hispanics wear these. It's like a right of passage or something. If you're Mexican you have to have a gold chain with a cross hanging from it (or a Virgin Mary) or you're not really down I guess.

Even funnier, it's like a prerequisite to being a Mexican gang member to sport one. Sheesh talk about your conflicts of interest.

^Im hispanic and wear a cross. Not for a right of passage or (just in case) I click up. I think most hispanics wear virgin marys or crosses cuz the religon in the family is a lot more stricter.

Thankfully my parents told me to "choose" my own religon and that they weren't gonna push any on me.

Like someone said, the cross to me doesn't represent HOW jesus died but what he died FOR.

No I wouldn't, what my father has done for me is nothing, it wouldn't even compared to what Jesus has done for everyone. Why try to BASH what very few people believe in....it won't get anywhere.

The world we live in today is full of symbols and advertisements (billboards, commercials, logos, etc.). I can't go anywhere without running into these symbols. The cross on my neck I wear to remind me that there is still good in the world. I don't worship the symbol I worship what it stands for to me. I know that there are people who wear the cross and do a bunch of fucked up shit and they try to turn my reminder into somethin shady. So to the best of my abilty I try and do good things and when people remember me they will remember that I wore that cross and tried to live my life according to what it really stood for sacrifice, love, redemption, justice, righteousness, war, peace = GOOD. Basically it doesn't matter what symbols you wear it's what the symbols mean to you that matters. The cross is just my focal point. It reminds me of a man that wasn't faded by any of the bullshit these fucking devils tried to throw at Him, someone I try to live like to best of my ability. As for the butterknife, if Jesus was killed by a butterknife I'd wear that shit around my neck too cuz if that butterknife touched Jesus then it's freakin holy and blessed as far as I'm concerned.

Every shape has a meanin in the grand scheme of things. The cross represents sacrifice. Upside down tho, don't it look like a sword?

DT, its not a right of passage. I wear the Virgin. It was given to me by my Godmother, at my baptism. I think they give it to kids b/c its supposed to keep them safe, a reminder that God is always w/ us and that we walk w/ God. This is an intermingling of the catholic religion w/ indigenous beliefs. I wear it not so much b/c of the religion thing, but b/c it reminds me of what / where I come from. The importance of my culture and my upbringing. It has nothing to do w/ being down. I take it U don't wear one.

I was being sarcastic Rox'. Most Latinos are Catholic and it's just a Catholic thing to do. Whether it's passed down to you, given to you at your baptism, Holy Communion, or quinceanera.

What I find the most ironic is the people that wear the gold platinum diamond studded Crucifixes that cost a couple hundred dollars. Doesn't that go against what Jesus taught? Being greedy and flashy.
For reals though.
