1. Tupac. He was already a legend for his deep lyrics BEFORE Biggie died. On LIFE AFTER DEATH, Biggie was inching closer to commerciality (on certain songs) than he'd been on READY TO DIE. Had Mr. Wallace survived, he might have followed PUFF DADDY's commercial lead, for all we know...

2. C-Bo. Snoop had one classic (DOGGYSTYLE) and then was dust (except for his raps on the two EASTSIDAZ CDS, which I loved).
Bo, though, has a bunch of solo gems (GAS CHAMBER, AUTOPSY, TALES FROM THE CRYPT, 'TIL MY CASKET DROPS, and ENEMY OF THE STATE) which keep him still going strong, IMHO.

3. Killa Tay. Lynch and Tay are about equal in terms of potential, but Tay has stayed more prominent than Lynch as far as doing guest appearances (which is better than waiting for a lingering lawsuit to play itself out...I know these things tend to take forever, but show some consideration for the fans, Lynch!), so...

4. Lunasicc. Segal actually ain't bad, but NO ONE can fuck with AWOL's '96/'98 crew (C-BO, TAY, LAROO, LIL RIC, PIZZO, etc.)!

5. Marveless. Are you shitting me?!?! Even GHETTO BLUES 2001, which some people didn't feel (of course I dug it), runs rings around Eve! Marvaless sizzles!

6. X-Raided. If 50 Cent can last as long as X has (and this takes into account that X has managed to make decent-to-dope CDS IN PRISON, mind you), then we'll talk.

7. T-Nutt! Comparing him to Fab is like comparing Robert DeNiro to Dustin Diamond!

8. Yukmouth--his recent track record is better overall (although if Jay-Z had stuck with his REASONABLE DOUBT style, he might still be a contender).

9. Luni Coleone. Ja Rule and DMX had one dope CD each (their debuts) and then went straight commercial. LUNI's first two CDs were both cool, IMHO (although LUNICOLEONE.COM, his third, could have been better).

10. Crooked I. Daz's first two CDs (RETALIATION, REVENGE & GETBACK and R.A.W.) were great, but his recent stuff is startin' to sound too much the same (i.e. THIS IS THE LIFE I LEAD) and Crooked I's few appearances so far have been incredible!

PEACE!
