That's right I said it!

Carnivàle

www.imdb.com/title/tt0319969/

Carnivàle is an American television series set in the United States during the Great Depression. In tracing the lives of two disparate groups of people, its overarching story depicts the battle between good and evil and the struggle between free will and destiny; the storyline mixes Christian theology with gnosticism and Masonic lore, particularly that of the Knights Templar.

Carnivàle was produced by HBO and ran for two seasons between September 14, 2003 and March 27, 2005.

Nick Stahl and Clancy Brown starred as Ben Hawkins and Brother Justin Crowe, respectively.

Carnivàle's first episode set a new audience record for an HBO original series, but the show was unable to retain its ratings in its second season. Carnivàle was canceled after 24 episodes, cutting its intended six-season run short by four seasons. The show won five Emmys in 2004, was nominated for 10 further Emmy awards, and received numerous other nominations and industry awards between 2004 and 2006.

I never saw an episode on HBO. Only started once it was canceled and on DVD. I wish I'd have seen it while it was on, but would have only been even more disappointed that it never was able to finish.

I bought both seasons for $30 total during Black Friday from Amazon. I haven't seen a single episode but I bought it off the strength of the recommendation of a good friend and this thread.

If it sucks you all die.

^If it sucks, send them over to me lol

I haven't had HBO in a long time, so I've never heard of this show before just now. But I wouldn't mind checking it out.

At first I was thinking that Carnival as best show was complete bullshit. I had seen 2 episodes on HBO, but never saw any more and forgot about it.

I downloaded both seasons yesterday and I may have to agree with you on this. This show is so fucking bizarre and well put together. I'm only on s01e05, so we'll see how it plays out, but so far this shit is dope as fuck. Good recommendation.

They cancelled this show wayyy too soon. I found season 1 at gamestop for $30a few years ago and remember my dad telin me how good it was. Got blazed and after that scene in the 1st episode where that bitch is throwin up gold i was stuck on that show. The buildup between the 2 main characters was done real well.

Agree with you here, they cancelled that shit after 2 seasons wtf? It was really good though. I thought Rome was good too and got cancelled a little too early.

Rome was only supposed to be one season from what I heard. It did so good they rushed it and put together a second season.

I guess the writer/creator or whatever said he had invisioned 6 parts or something for Rome that went all the way to Jesus.
