But I mean, they could sell these versions as packs on XBLA or Home, but instead go out of their way to make it an official game and charge 60 bucks to get fresh music.

but the broader picture is that rock band signing the beatles is 100x more substantial than GH signing metallica. regardless of music tastes you cant deny the power of what the beatles mean to music. its going to bring more people to rock band more than anything ever has.

GH is already lightyears behind rock band as it is,the beatles is going to be the nail in the coffin. only thing GH can do to counter it is sign led zeppelin. anything less than that is going to be a failure.

I can see what you said happening, the Beatles are big and have shit load of fans, we would have to see if those fans from the 60's and on will transfer that love to a video game.

Metalica has the video game generation on lock though since they came out in the 80's. I think that might pull them in front and get more sales but who knows, I know older people that play Call of Duty 4 in there 40's.

the "video game generation" is going to play video games regardless. so there isnt any extra sales there. the beatles will pull in an older audience that doesnt even play video games, just loves the beatles. thats the difference.

I assure you that there are more people your/our age that like the Beatles than your favorite artist. And while I don't like every single song that's on Rock Band, you still enjoy playing them and wind up enjoying them when you otherwise never would have heard them.

I'm already familiar with Beatles music, so that would be a plus on top of the fact that I want new RB content.
