PRESS RELEASE / FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
SAN JOSE, CA - Big things are brewing in Northern California. The Bay Area to be exact! Long are gone the days of the GAVIN Convention and other seminars in the Bay Area particularly one’s with a focus on Independent Hip-Hop. Well, that’s all about to change with the creation of the Bay Area Rap Summit.
On April 17th, 2005 Dynasty Entertainment in conjunction with Southwestbound Magazine, Done Deal Entertainment, and Sickmix.com proudly brings you the first annual Mini Bay Area Rap Summit which has affectionately become known as “Mini-BARS”. Held at Emma’s/Club Miami in Downtown San Jose (177 W. SANTA CLARA ST.), the First Annual Mini-BARS will be a historic, much needed outlet for the Bay Area’s independent music industry.
The San Francisco Bay Area has long been a hotbed of talent with artist’s such as E-40, Too Short, and most recently Baby Bash being thrust into the national spotlight. Not only has the Bay birthed the careers of these stars but also countless numbers of independent entrepreneurs trying to create a name for themselves in this oversaturated industry. MTV and The Source Magazine have overlooked the Bay Area for years and in the tradition of great do-it-yourselfers such as JT The Bigga Figga and Master P, Dynasty Entertainment has decided to bring the industry to us.
The First Annual “Mini-B.A.R.S.” will be a professional, education, industry networking event with a focus on “how to build and succeed in the independent rap game” in today’s volatile marketplace. Guest speakers and panelists will discuss a wide range of topics that face the independent artist and label from artist development, to radio and mix shows to securing distribution. There will also be showcases of up and coming artists as well as a freestyle competition to crown the Bay Area Freestyle King. Heavy emphasis will be placed on the importance of networking as well as adapting to an industry that has become heavily reliant on modern technology including the internet, digital recording programs and the like.
Come out for a day of education, food, fun, networking, and a chance to meet with some of the industry’s top professionals as well as artist’s and radio personalities. All eyes are on the Bay, so please remember this is a professional event and no negativity of any kind will be tolerated. Hopefully, this small event will give birth to a much larger and successful event with everyone’s support.
