i got an email from girl at the site heres what it said:

what's good? This is for Bay Area designers of all races. If your line is
hott and it has the support of the Bay, then of course we want to check
for you. The nominee list for 2005 was closed a few months ago, but the
show will go down again next year, so this is when we can check for you as
a nominee. It sounds like your line is hott and that you already have good
distribution, unfortunatley we just didn't know about you sooner.

However, you sound like you're about your business so I'm glad you emailed
me. There are some business opportunites where a clothing line can make a
lot of money through BARS that we can't open up to nominees since we have
to be impartial with the nominees, but we can open up this opportunity to
our sponsors.

Would you be interested in printing and distributing the official BARS
T-shirt? If so, then lets talk about opening up a sponsor relationship
becuase by doing this, you'll have more exposure through the show than any
of the nominees. Also, if you distribute the offical BARS T-shirt, then
you will more than make your money back as sponsor because you will have
the exclusive rights to sell them at the show, inside the venue.

As a sponsor, we can also give you clothing vendor rights at the event so
that in addition to selling the BARS shirts, you can bring the rest of
your line. As a business man I'm sure you can see that this is where you
stand to make a lot of money in addition to getting exposure and publicity
from the event. Then, for the 2006 show it will be clear that you are the
designer of the year because you know how to move on good opportunities.

Anyhow, I have attached our official sponsorship guide so that you can see
the numbers that we are talking about when we bring on a sponsor. The
smallest package is $10K, however let's talk about this since I want to
give you a custom sponsorship pacakge and I want to make sure that you
have all of the support you need to get your line recognized at the event
and see a high return on your investment becuase there is money to be made
here for the right designer, I just need to know if you are that designer,
so let's talk soon.

Best,
Aliseya

here is my most recent reply from the bars awared ppl. i dont want to kick my self in the ass just yet but the bottom part of this letter is why i posted it im hopin if we keep on em about our genre of rap we can do it.hopefully everything goes koo.

Sounds good. Let's talk soon to see what would work the best for you. Like
I said, I want to make sure that your company can benefit from working
with BARS. Otherwise what is the point? What would probably be the best is
a vendor agreement so that you can market your line at the show plus get a
link to your store on the sponsor page of the site, which would include a
license for the official BARS logo (it's black and chrome and will look
good on a Black T-Shirt) because this product will probably sell the best
at the show and on the BARS site.

Anyhow, first talk to your partner about this and figure out what you
think you can make from this. I think the post event sales will be big
for the official BARS shirts because we are going to have post-event
publicity in the Source and in King magazine, which will drive traffic to
the site which will increase online BARS T-shirt sales. Do you want a part
of this?

Anyhow, think about this for a few days, then let's talk about sponsor
numbers because like I said, I want you to profit so I'm not going to come
at you with the same numbers that I'm talking to Xbox about because they
are working with a different marketing budget, but let me know what makes
sense to you because you will definitely come away with increased brand
recognition for your line as well as profit from the on site and online
sales. Right now the BARS site is getting 200 hits per day, and we haven't
even started the full radio campaign yet. However, you probably want to
get in on the sales sooner rather than later because like I said, the
official logo is done, so you can really start sales whenever you are
ready. But that is your business, so do what makes sense for you.

Let's talk about the other music categories for the 2006 show because it
is too late to get it in this year, but I agree, opening up the categories
to Latino/Latina artists is a great idea. We are going to start the
planning for that around November. We'll definitely need to consult with
you about the nominees for these categories.

Best,
AW
