yeah i wouldn't doubt it, cuz they asked em before the final round who they was feeling, and they said reign man, and they wasn't even part of it no more so why ask them, and no they didn't give no kind of percents or numbers as proof, fuck that, def jam just don't want no west coast artists, the last one they had was WC and look what happened with him, NOTHING, they wont put the effort and promotional muscle behind the west, fuck em

Really, a record deal left in the hands of fans? I don't buy it.

It wasn't about no East Coast/West Coast shit, Reign Man was probably just the closest to what they were looking for, so he won...

I have first hand knowledge that these major labels want shit catered to their specific needs. In the year 2003, everyone raps. They now have options on who they can pick and who they expect to be the next big thing. Lock might have had the best rhymes, but you got to remember. This is a major about to give a recording contract to a virtual nobody. It's never in our hands. They are afraid of what we want, Because it isn't what they want.

yall do realize they rule was no foul language...though locksmith did come off harder, he said "cooch" and "dick" and that coulda been the reason for 'disqualification.'

^^^ those probably werent on the "foul language" list...cuz dudes were saying bitch and ass like it was nothing with out getting dq'd.

Locksmith was coo...but i think he should of repped the bay a little more in his rhymes but then again it was a battle rap so he had to diss the other dude...but locksmith did get his name out there...i think the last round wasn't done on skills but how marketable locksmith and rain man were...and i guess they thought rain man was...but thru out the battles they judged on skills...

locksmith did get his name out there tho...which is always good

There's no way he could've repped tha bay more....He had a RECOGNICE THE BAY T-Shirt and everytime they asked him a question, I mean EVERY TIME, he mentioned tha bay, new bay, cali etc....
