It all depends on your filing status, assets, etc. I have done my own for the past several years, but its easy when your single with no dependents. If you cant figure it out on your own, there are tons of small-time preparers that will hook you up for $40-50. The bigger places like H&R Block cost a bit more than that.

I heard TurboTax is good too but its like $30 for the software.

Go to http://www.taxfreedom.com/ and you can file your taxes online.

I've done that for the past 2 years. The thing I like about it is that you can see how much you'll get befoe you complete the entire process and then you can come back to it later or you can proceed and finish it online. You can have it automatically deposited into your account or they will mail you a check and you can choose to get your return within 48 hours I believe or within 7-10 days. It usually comes back really quick.

BTW ... Turbo Tax has free Federal Filing.
