So yeah, I've done some stuff when I was a kid, but at my school we have classes that you can take...I'm trying to decide which one I should get into. I mainly just want the conditioning and learn some technique stuff, etc..not trying to compete or anything...

any thoughts?

Tae Kwon Do

Capoeira is lame.

If you are just looking for fitness then Capoeira would be cool. But Tae Kwon Do for discipline, fighting, conditioning, etc.

yeah taekwondo is heavy on discipline, ill agree. its a cool starting point.

sparring was fun...even though you have to wear gloves and foot pads
I just checked..we have aikido classes as well..you suggest that over Tae Kwon Do?

What made you quit?
honestly i was real young at the time and i felt like it was taking away from me kicking it with my friends and shit, every weekend id be at the dojo either training or sparring, sat and sunday, and it was cool because i was finning trophies and all that, but i couldnt go play street football...or go to the pool like evryone else in the apartment complex...so i quit before i got my black belt

Neither. Just do yourself a favor and sign up for an MMA class. If your looking for a single style pick one of the following:

-muay thai
-boxing
-sambo
-brazilian jiu jitsu
-judo
-wrestling

All will teach you shit and improve your conditioning.

i think it would probably be best for you to start at taekwondo. i mean aikido is tight, but taekwondo will teach you more discipline and its more straight forward karate..aikido is more like..using peoples energy against them...but with that said once you do taekwondo aikido will be easy to understand

theres jsut a certain formula/fluidity to kicking and punching you have to get down and taekwondo kinda goes through it slowly so you can get it

i would ask if they spar with headgear, i think thats kinda wack imo...

neither, holler at kung fu or aikido

but if i weere to pick from that id say taekwondo i was a few months short of a black belt when i was a kid
here-here... I was hella close to 1st dan Black Belt, but then the owner took all the money and disappeared. I never even tried to get back into the shit. I should, though. It all depends on what type of martial art style you're looking for. Self-defense, aggressive/offensive, punching, kicking, etc.
