Sorry to inform you family but t pain does not use a talk box like roger troutman and now the other greatest person using the talk box northwest own bosko. T pain sings on the tracks then has a auto vocoder tune his voice the way you hear it now. The same way snoop, lil wayne, and kanye has now jacked from him. So pain is right these rappers are ripping off his style. Funny thing is pain can really sing but he did it 1st to sound like Akon on locked up but it was a mix tape song called fucked up. Akon heard the song and signed him. Pain was in a rap group called the nappyheadz and had a regional hit out there in the south.

i don't know pimpin i seen T-Pain sing live at the Ozone award show and he sounded like straight garbage without the vocoder imo....

No he wasn't. Please stop disrespecting Roger by comparing him to that worthless, talentless fuck T Pain. Roger used a talkbox which takes WAY more talent to use than that bullshit auto tune. And Roger wasn't even the first one to use the talkbox. Stevie wonder was doing it years before Roger and there were people using it even before him. And on top of that, T Pain wasn't even the first to use auto tune like that. Cher and faggot boy bands were using that shit 10 years before T Pain. T-Pain used an effect called Autotune....it is neither a TALKBOX NOR A VOCODER.....JUST AN EFFECT!!!!

Roger Troutman used a TALKBOX which is connected to a keyboard. The sound of the keyboard comes out of a tube that is inserted into the mouth....U PLAY THE KEYBOARD and just SOUND OUT THE WORDS.....THAT TAKES MORE TALENT THAN U COULD FATHOM!!!!


And I'm sorry RJ but T-Pain CAN NOT SING.....The VH1 Hip-Hop Honors performance proved that.
