Chad Ochocinco’s dream since Super Bowl week of the Bengals adding Terrell Owens has become a reality.
The Bengals and Owens agreed to terms on a one-year contract, according to a league source.
Owens will receive a base salary of $2 million. He can earn up to another $2 million in incentives. The deal won't be signed until Thursday when T.O. arrives in town.
Owens will be on the field in time for the second practice at Georgetown College on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Ochocinco was so delighted, he called in to Sportscenter on ESPN's evening broadcast to express his joy.
"We are friends off the field," Ochocinco said. "That's what's different about this situation with him. He's never had another receiver opposite him like this. For us, it's going to be extremely easy to coexist. We both have the same passion and love for the game and we our both very skilled at what we do."
Ochocinco jokingly said on his Twitter account soon after, "My homeboy is a Bengal, all of our games have been moved to pay-per-view. You got to pay to see this."
He then followed with this analysis: "I bet I won't see all those double teams now! Cedric Benson could have a 2,000 yard season with the attention we're gonna command."
