I'm sick of SBC's slow ass speeds - 28/KB a sec. downloads (they say I'm living on the edge of their service area), poor service (always get some Indian dude who's reading off a script), frequent outages and their weird pricing. How many of y'all have made the switch? Is it worth it?
I am checking out this offer below.

I made the switch....HUUUUUGE difference and I totally feel u about the Indian dude reading from the script lol...."I am veddy sorry for the inconveniance"....All these companies like SBC are outsourcing their "support" to India yet there is NO SUPPORT now....Total bullshit. I've had to call Cox a couple times and they always resolved my issue

Out here it's Cox Cable but same shit as Comcast

I get averages about 150 kilobytes on a wireless network. N plus u can take it anywhere, but if u can get cable internet get it. No sense in not getting it.

I just switched last month. I had SBC DSL and switched to Cox Cable. My SBC billz kept going up.......at one month it was 75 buckz, then the next it was 80, then the next 100 buckz a month for DSL and home phone. I finally was like fuck this and switched. Now I pay about the same price for Digital Cable and Cable internet. I never used my home phone anywayz and I gotta cell.......make the switch...

187proof, please explain!! how much is the one-time fee??????

i'm switching from my sbc yahoo dial up to comcast high speed. been waiting for over 6months for sbc dsl to be available in my area now cause they're upgrading their shit to fiber optics too so they wont let any new customers. so i got tired of waiting and ordered comcast.. they're coming THIS friday to hook it up and everything.. i gotta say i'm quite excited haha

here's what i got..
-$19.99/month guaranteed for 6 months
-$13.15 for basic cable (either this or $29.99/month for internet only.. so might as well get cable tv also)
-$49.99 one time fee for professional installation
-motorola modem, $9.99 after rebates (90=80 rebates, 10 shipping)
-free $100 cash back (it'll pay for the $50 installation and the $10 modem, plus you get like 40 left over)

got my deal from www.comcastoffers.com (found it at google when i was looking for the comcast highspeed website) it's totally legit. it's a 3rd party offer.. but they're linked to comcast.

check it outt, i think the regular comcast.com offer is like 19.99 for 3 months. but you dont get all the extra shit. the 3rd party offer is worth it.

I went from when comcast started its cable service modem, then went to sbc for a month cause i thought why not? i could save a few bucks, 2days later i returned their equipment and went back to comcast. Needless to say Im one of the first customers to have cable modem in Sacramento County been hooked ever since.......

I been with comcast since it was AT&T @Home High Speed Internet lol.. which was like.. 1998ish.

@187

How exactly would that work.... I mean.. for someone to cancel wouldnt comcast just shut the service off from the office?

Yes, but this is set up seperately....so, you pay the one time fee, I'll get your "free" line turned on....then you unplug your modem, call comcast to cancel, after you get off the phone with them plug your modem back in and you're good as gold....I've been doing it for a while, plus countless friends that I've got involved as well.....shit is legit and a nice money saver.

 The Comcast here in Frisco cancels your service from a digitized central office, so once you cancel, it's gone.
