i got H1N1 last month, and it sucked. I spent about a week in bed (i have asthma) and had shortness of breath. But it wasn't something so bad that i would get the swine flu shoot. the media is over hyping this whole thing.
THANK YOU. Thats what I been trying to tell everyone. I refuse to get that fucking thing. H1N1 is a siccness.. Something like it happened in the past. This shit is worse then the normal flu but its not like if you get it you WILL die. Hell more people have died from the regular flu than swine and there making it seem like fucking pigs are to blame for the apocalypse . the government is taking it outta hand probably so they can forma health care system that THEY want.

On the other hand. If the vaccine was free, would you still refuse? I ask because my school is giving it for free. I wont get it but im trying to see if that would change opinons on here

the vaccines are just to get people to pay for the shot, then it gets them sick. so the people who got sick now by being forced upon with the vaccine, plus them spreading that shit more than usual because the vaccine is a LIVE anti body. so those people sick + the people who caught he flu have to go see doctors, and pay for the visit, then pay for more medicine....and the money just circulates all in the health care field. watta coincidence...or maybe i just over analyze shit. call me a mother fuckin socratic, then

edit: and the only people who got the dead anti bodied vaccine were 50+ years in age. because they were too scared old people would croke over and not be able to cope as well as a younger person.

The only vaccine containing live virus is the Flu Mist (nasal spray). The shots are made with dead virus. People who get sick after receiving the shot usually have a cold, or got the flu prior to receiving the shot but weren't showing symptoms yet. You know this because people report getting the flu 1-2 days after vaccination, which is impossible considering incubation periods for viruses is about 7 days.

My girl got her shot yesterday, and is doing just fine. My 2 1/2 year old niece got hers last week, and is doing just fine. Bunch of old coworkers at Kaiser and my mom all got theirs, and they are all fine.

Truth is, people are hyping the "possible" side effects of the vaccine more than the media is hyping up the virus.

Look at it this way. Some people go in for tonsillectomy's...most don't have complications from such a simple surgery, but some do (I'm one of the few that had complications and ended up in a bad place a week after my surgery...but I'd do it again if I had to). If your throat was almost swollen closed all the time, would you say "Fuck that, I could have complications from the surgery"...or would you take your chances and have your tonsils taken out knowing the odds are in your favor?

One of my twins got the swine flu three weeks ago. He turned 1 on halloween. Temp 105.5 at the ER. I have Sharp. My job pays $700 a month, I pay $380 to cover kids. After let out the hospital needed Tamiflu, and predisone for breathing. Walgreens wanted $175 a dose. They gave me two prescriptions one prevetative for the other twin. But they were out of stock. No one had Tamiflu in San Diego but Kaiser. Sharps pharmecy was closed on Sundays. Kaiser charged me $60 each. These insurance companys suck ass. Everythings about the all mighty dollar while hardworking people suffer. If I didn't work and was on Medi-Cal all that shit would have been free. I had emergency Medi-Cal through their dad for 6 months. That shit was proper. Then he got a job. Pediatrician said both babies and me need swine flu vax and flu shot. I need universal health coverage.

My chick is on Medi-Cal right now...and it's a fuckin' JOKE! Yea, it's free...but you get what you pay for. Had she been on Kaiser or something, she would have been taken care of immediately. Instead, she got the run around for her swine flu vaccine for a couple weeks. County even told her that she wasn't high risk, even though she's 4 1/2 months pregnant (High risk is 4 months or more).

My uncle also has medi-cal, and his doctor told him he needs heart surgery...like NOW. MEDI-CAL will not approve him for heart surgery because they said he doesn't need it (dude has a serious heart problem...he's not even allowed to WORK..it's that serious). So tell me again why government healthcare is a GOOD thing.

You can have Kaiser with Medi-Cal so I don't understand why she's not winning. My same Sharp doctor is who we used when we had emergency Medi-Cal. My mother was making 100k plus before she got MS and she loves her MediCare. My family on Welfare all go to Kaiser. Their kids is making out. I know people with PAID insurance who are fighting their insurance companies about denying surgery or referrals to see specialist. And the people with deductables are waiting for shit to get terrible before they see a doc. Working people are losing with healthcare. And insurance companies are insurance companies. They fight u to save a $. Even if you r paying

What I heard in the ER by a couple nurses was that you're prone if you get the flu and you have asthma, but the key to avoiding this is drinking lots of water, vitamin c (oranges) and other antioxidants. Washing your hands a lot is key too.

I just copped me a new insurance plan after being turned down 3 times. Medi-cal/Medicare was gonna be my last option.
