This is really wierding me out here... I recently won an eBay auction for an original Gansta Dre cd here...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4807763841

I got home from work today and received the package from which it was shipped in. The cd was still sealed in the shrink wrap, so I opened it up. I then opened the jewel case and look inside only to see there is not a Gangsta Dre CD in there, there is some cd called Gang Society - G's Till We Die. What the hell? This is super strange! Who is this Gang Society group and how would it have got in there? I hope someone can shed some light on what happened here. I just contacted the seller, I hope that he even believes me! Do you guys think I should return this and get my money back, or is this Gang Society cd worth just as much? Do you think this guy just put in the wrong cd and re-shrink-wrapped it? Any help would be appreciated!

Hopefully the seller will let me return the item for a refund. If not I may have to give him negative feedback? I would hate to be stuck with this... Maybe I can find someone with the og Gang Society and have them make some color inserts for me? Then get someone to make me a cd-r of the og Gangsta Dre?
Here is a scan of what I got...

yeah that gang societys a pretty tight album, you could look at that auction and tell the cd had been resealed. I hate when muthafuckas do that. If it looks like its been resealed I send em an email askin if its factory sealed.

If it's resealed (custom) then I'd treat it as a lie. It's obvious that sealed == factory sealed, therefore he should write it explicitely: "I resealed it (and put a fake disc inside)" ;).

Just like people say "original release" and it turns out to be a re-release. Yea, but it was original, wasn't it?

Look like gang Society from the Northside of Houston.

Why you pay $51 for that Gang Bangin Poetry and it just got re-released not too long ago. I recently got mine off the internet for $15. When I went to 7th Heaven in KC this past summer, they had bout a fresh 200 copies on the shelf for sale.

That would be awesome if you could scan those inserts for me jay deuce! I'll PM you now... It turns out I will be keeping the inserts and cd after all...
So does anyone happen to have the og cd that they could burn for me, or is it the same as the re-release called Gang Banging The Sequal? Did they just make an exact copy of the master, or did they actually remaster it before they pressed it again?

Hello Everyone, I am new here, but I wanted to chime in.

If it is any help, Gang Society is a group from the northside of Houston, TX from a neighborhood called Lakewood. That G's Til We Die CD is very very rare, even here in Houston, TX. It was released in 1995 on Newsytle Records which was a label that was owned by Doug King, who was a producer for a lot of the early Rap-A-Lot stuff. The best comparison that I can give is Gang Society kinda sounds like down south version of Bone Thugs N Harmony.

I hope this helps you guys out.

Peace

Thanks for the post Mr. 25/8! Seems you definitly know your local TX rap. I'm still banging my head over how it ended up inside my Gansgat Dre cd jewel case. Maybe it came like this from the factory? They were released on different record labels, although the same year...
