*note* old article
one of the main reasons why im considering on purchasing a Wii. i sill play in some smash tournaments every now and then, hopefully this one is 10x better than Melee. it looks pretty dope.. especially since S. Snake and Pit are gonna be characters .. plus Wi-Fi online MP matches.
Kirby, Samus, Wario, Solid Snake...is this a classic game convention or a fighting game?
Last night, we were treated to an advance peek at a new Wii game: Super Smash Brothers Brawl.
The advance look we got of the game showed plenty of new characters:
-Wario (who we can confirm attacks foes with, um, farts)
-Pit (from Kid Icarus)
-Metaknight (from Kirby)
-Zero Suit Samus (from Metroid: Zero Mission)
-...and in a huge surprise, Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid!
Other noteworthy features:
-the game will likely take advantage of the Wii's Wi-Fi connectivity, and the developers are expecting to allow for online multiplayer matches
-Super Smash Brothers Brawl will not use the default wireless Wii controller. Instead, it will likely use the original GameCube controller (or the Wii's new Classic controller, a sleeker, PS2-style revision of the GameCube controller). The Wii has ports for these controllers built in.
-Snake was added to the game after Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima "begged" for him to be included. Smash Brothers creator Masahiro Sakurai said that Snake is likely to attack with explosive weapons, possibly even exclusively. And yes, Snake will bring his trademark cardboard box.
-Super Smash Brothers Brawl will launch sometime in 2007; it won't be a Wii launch title.
