UCSD Students are holding a protest after a noose was found on a bookshelf at the Geisel Library.

The noose was found around 10 p.m. Thursday, according to campus police. A protest was scheduled for 8 a.m. on the library walk.

From the notorious Compton Cookout, to Koala's provocative backlash and a scheduled Compton Cookout, Part 2, UCSD seems anything but a welcoming melting pot to many students.

It started with an off-campus, ghetto-themed party over the Feb. 13-14 weekend hosted by members of more than one fraternity, among other students, to mock Black History Month.

grapes of wrath probably remembers the nazi stronghold at the thunderdome....nazis really invaded our street on hitlers birthday...the cops came after the mass-fight and no one was home and they left a 2000 dollar bill on our door

blacks are just the super minority in san diego...for the most part id think IMO everyone outside of southeast and east SD dosent see to many blacks unless somewhat educated/middle classed/prolly a lil white washed.

which would believe me to think maybe any hate against blacks in san diego might stem from the ghetto, and if thats the case..ha ha....keep yo ass out..thats what they get

san diego is a great place, beyond the racism, but if you were born in SD youre real used to the racism by now, even black on black racism much less..youre kinda born into that type of hate out here moreso than north cali

i dont think much will be done @ UCSD
