Event promoter Kevin Rouse has been staging spectacular events around Los Angeles for the past 20 years now. Jazz filled nights, R&B performances, comedy, dancing and celebrities are the ingredients he mixes to keep his audience coming back for more. When he and his business partner, Pernell Clark, coordinated an affair at the exclusive Disney Concert Hall last Labor Day, many said it couldn't be done. The experience, a first for the Disney Concert Hall, was the "All Black Affair 2010" and proceeds benefitted the non-profit organization Brother II Brother. With almost 2000 attendees enjoying a night like never before however, Rouse sealed the deal, firmly establishing himself as Los Angeles' premier party thrower!
Rouse and Clark will recreate the magic Memorial Day Weekend, May 28, from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am, this time at the prestigious Dorothy Chandler Pavilion with Summer Solstice LA 2011 "Denim & White." Joined by a bevy of the city's top event promoters, Rouse and Clark, along with core group partners Deshawn Cabeza and Brandi White, are coordinating one of the biggest affairs Los Angeles has ever seen held at the venue. With proceeds to benefit the The Weingart Center Association (http://www.weingart.org/) which serves the homeless, the Summer Solstice will be a sea of denim and white clad party-goers reveling in two floors of entertainment. Premier event promoters such as Roland Wirt, Marc Gaspard, Mike Heath and Joe Jones are also involved in the effort.
Musical performances include the Grammy nominated neo-soul sensation N'Dambi, actor/musician William L Johnson aka Brotha Bill, comedy by T.K Kirkland and celebrity host, actor Christian Keyes from the hit stage play, "Madea Goes to Jail." Jazz ensemble Ryan Cross Experience will add to the flavor, with casino style (play) gambling, Chicago style stepping and three DJ's rocking the dance floor! The Dororthy Chandler Pavillion is located at 135 North Grand in downtown Los Angeles. Tickets start at $30.00 with VIP specials available. "Summer Solstice LA 2011 "Denim & White" is a combined effort on the part of over 20 event promoters from around greater Los Angeles," reveals Rouse who is currently developing a reality show project centered around the good, bad and the ugly of Los Angeles event promoters. "It is a beautiful demonstration of community as we join together to raise money for a good cause, The Weingart Center for the Homeless. In addition, it is a great opportunity for professionals to get dressed up and enjoy a most memorable evening on the town. This is truly a culmination of all of our experience and talent as we continue to imprint Los Angeles with affairs that cater to grown and sexy professionals of Los Angeles and beyond. On May 28, everyone will be a celebrity in their own right!"
