i've been talking to a lot of cats lately that want to get a Triton, Motif or XP-60 as their first keyboard...
I just wanna say save the money...
you can get a Controller for 150 bucks (and up to 600) check the Roland PC-300 for low end and the studio logic for the more expensive...

then you get this "JV-1010 Sound Module"
you can get one used for about 350...this is the best begining module there is...and better then some twice the money...

i wish i had done this three years ago instead of buying all the junk i did...

go to guitar center they might have some of this stuff to check out

I agree....People think your stuck with the stock sounds. What about the sampler, what about the three expansion slots, what about the custom drum kits, etc. Dont give advice if you dont know all the equipment your talking bout!

The Motif is vicious...I dont feel held back at all when using that board...I can do pretty much anything I want on there and I still havnt learned half of it...the more Im learning the better it gets tho...

I got a JV1010 aswell...its definetly got good sounds for the price...I dont really care for its setup tho...its confusing using only 3 knobs and a little ass screen but I agree its coo to start with..for those who dont have much experience making music and dont wanna spend a grip...

shit, I started out with a MPC, theres nothing with started out with top of the line stuff. As long as your willing to put the effort into learning how to use it. If you know that you really want to make music I don't see anything wrong with buying top of the line gear when your first starting...
