UNIVERSAL CITY ( KTLA) -- Former rap producer Marion "Suge" Knight was arrested for outstanding traffic warrants and was released early Saturday morning by Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies.
Knight was arrested as he left a restaurant at Universal City Walk and was spotted by deputies about 12:30 a.m., according to sheriff's officials.
The deputies discovered that he was wanted on a minor traffic warrant issued recently in Beverly Hills, according to Sgt. Shawn Ruda of the sheriff’s West Hollywood Station.
He said that Knight, who has a long arrest record, was not doing anything wrong when he was stopped and voluntarily agreed to talk to the deputies.
The former head of Death Row Records was set to appear in front a Beverly Hills judge to deal with two tickets stemming from a Sept. 23 incident where he was pulled over for allegedly driving through a stop sign as well as operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
After he allegedly did not appear for his initial court date on Nov. 23, a warrant was issued.
