San Francisco is certainly a hotbed for young talent. Hundreds of struggling rap artists dream to one day taste success and bask in the limelight. Among them comes the group known as Submarine Funk. Comprised of two fourths of the group KNT, Mr. Sirate and G-Boogie are letting it be known with their debut album “Living in the Free” that they’ll be a group to watch for in the future. Mr. Sirate, also known as P-Kid, brings his unique production to the album and G-Boog’s lyrical ability shows his perfection of rhyming. So how does the album balance out? Read the rest of my review.

“Living in the Free” is a very solid album all the way through with the exception of a couple of tracks. By far, the best track on the whole cd would have to be “Till the Club Close” with Fully Loaded. The beats were creative and the lyrical ability both rappers possess was above average. With the backing of San Quinn and Done Deal Entertainment, the future of Submarine Funk looks bright. Highly recommended album. 8.5/10
