I got a question what does your binder, notes, and note books look like? I use to suffer from the exact samething. My note books were horrendous, papers were everywhere. I use to have a hard time reading text books, matter of fact it was so bad that I don't ever recall reading a text book my first year at college. I got by, by reading cliff notes or stuff from the internet. All my book reports were stuff I found on the net, I didn't plagerize but I read expert opinions on the book and put it in my writing...
During my first year in college, whenever I started to read a book my head got dizzy...lol!! My mind would wander into other things and 15 minutes later after day dreaming, I would just quit and say "fuck it I'll read it tommorow when I get to school". And usually when I was pressured to read it, like on test days, thats when I was interested in reading....Man it got soo bad that I'd try to study for four chapter test 2 hrs before class...lol!! I barely passed my first year in college....I definitly knew I had to change my studying ways....
1) I no longer do my homework or readings at home: My bedroom is too damn comfy, I got a nice big stereo system, computer, TV etc. And if I stay at home I would definitly turn on the TV and watch a program.
2) I type out all my notes: My hand writting is horrendous, and my notes were very incomplete. So what I did was I started to type them out. The wholes and incomplete thoughts in my notes, I went over with the instructor during there office hours. All my teachers helped me out and were glad to tell me the stuff I was missing....
3) Studying for Tests: Like 4 chapter tests or so, I'd create a schedule. If I had a test on monday I would designated certain days of the week and tell myself by this day I would read chapter 2 and 3 and on the other day I would read this and that...And on Sunday I would review my notes....It really worked for me.
However now that I do my school work in the library, I've been a A/B student for a few years now...
However we are all different, and you would have to pick out a method that best suits you...But don't study at home, like Bangvan said read it till you understand it...
