What it Do siccness. Im bout to make some studio upgrades and wanted some advice from yall. First off Keyborads im lookin at getting a the top line KORG TRITON or a YAMAHA Motif 88-KEY MIDI sequencer. Which should i get. Also would and MPC 2000 XL handle everything i wanna do with making beats. Like samples and whatnot? Whats the best program for sequencing/arranging. I have Adobe Audition v 1.5 for my pc. I just gotta a mac and will be running pro tools with it. Are these programs good or should i cop sumpthin else. Lastly where can i get some good samples. I see loops and sample discs at places like musciansfriend.com are any of these good?

thanks alot siccness any advice would be helpful

Protools is really good with working with audio but when messing with MIDI stuff like cubase and Sonar are better, might be good to get both

Both the Triton and the Motif get the job done. Both have pros and cons so you should just go down to your local Guitar Center and play with both of them and see which one you like better. The Triton has been on the market a lot longer so it's stock sounds are far more played out than the Motif's, although the Motif is quickly reaching that status.

I should stress two points right now before you buy either. First, LEARN HOW TO PROGRAM YOUR SYNTH! Secondly, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CUSTOM SOUNDS & SAMPLES! There's nothing worse than cats who dump all this money into these workstations and don't get farther than stock presets!!

You can quote me on this and it's especially true in rap music... YOUR SOUNDS MEAN EVERYTHING!

I heard korg is coming out with a new flagship soon, might wait till that happens. Personally I've been drooling over that Phantom X7, all those keyboards are hella tight though.
