Yep, it was at a relicensing hearing in Cali, and Texas has a notoriously lax athletic commission. That along with Zuffa now owning them I don't think he'll have a problem

Didn't Barnett test positive not too long ago?
Yeah and that was his 3rd questionable test, he is still not able to fight in California and there is only like 3 or so states that will let him fight, most states stand by other states suspensions/non licensing issues, Texas just happens to be one of the states that seems to care less.

Gina Carano Vs Sarah D'Alelio - June 18th

Accoring to a report at nonstopwmma.com , the superstar face of womens MMA, Gina "Conviction" Carano ( 7-1 ), will make her long awaited return to the cage on June 18th, on the undercard of Strikeforce: Overeem Vs Werdum. Carano's opponent will be Sarah D'Alelio ( 4-1 ).

Gina Carano has long been seen as the glamourous face of womens MMA, although her last fight put an end to that, she she was mercilessly beaten down by the seemingly unstoppable Christiane "Cyborg" Santos way back in August of 2009. Ever since Carano has been focused on her movie career, and will soon star alongside Ewan McGregor in Steven Soderberghs "Haywire".

Carano is already back in training for her comeback fight, training at Jackson / Winklejohn MMA in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Del Rosario in Car Accident, Noons-Masvidal Targeted As Replacement Bout

Heavyweight Shane Del Rosario (11-0 MMA, 3-0 SF) has withdrawn from an upcoming bout with fellow prospect Daniel Cormier (7-0 MMA, 4-0 SF) following a car accident this past week, MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) today learned from sources close to the event.

A lightweight bout between K.J. Noons (9-2 MMA, 2-1 SF) and Jorge Masvidal (21-6 MMA, 2-0 SF) will likely take its place, according to a separate source.

"Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum" takes place June 18 at American Airlines Center in Dallas and airs live on Showtime.

Details on Del Rosario's accident are scant at this time, but it's believed his injuries are serious enough to keep him from fighting on the card. Calls to Del Rosario and his representatives went unanswered.

The undefeated fighter was fresh off an impressive submission win over Lavar Johnson at "Strikeforce and M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Silva." The bout served as a reserve bout in the promotion's heavyweight grand prix.

Del Rosario's bout with Cormier was also billed as a reserve bout. It's unknown at this time whether his injuries will keep him from future tournament vacancies.

Cormier could not be reached for comment.

Noons returns to the cage after falling short in a bid for Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz's belt this past October. The two had met three years prior with Noons emerging victorious as lightweight champion of the now-defunct EliteXC.

Masvidal most recently dispatched up-and-comer Billy Evangelista this past March at "Strikeforce: Columbus." The American Top Team lightweight has hopscotched between wins and losses in his previous four appearances.

JZ vs. Wilcox Targeted for June 18th Strikeforce

It’s been several months since Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante stepped foot in the cage, but it appears he’s finally return to return to action.

Cavalcante is expected to meet wrestling stand-out Justin Wilcox in a lightweight bout on the upcoming Strikeforce card on June 18 in Texas.

Sources indicated to MMAWeekly.com on Friday that the fight was agreed to for the upcoming Strikeforce show.

Cavalcante (15-4-1) has been out of action since last October when he lost a controversial decision to former Strikeforce lightweight champion Josh Thomson.

Since that time, the Brazilian has been waiting for the call to get him back in the cage, and the call finally came.

Facing Cavalcante in June will be American Kickboxing Academy fighter Justin Wilcox (11-3) making his return to the cage on a six fight winning streak.

The wrestling powerhouse has reeled off the wins in impressive fashion lately, and most recently put on a dominant performance over Rodrigo Damm at Strikeforce Challengers in April.

The bout between Cavalcante and Wilcox will serve as part of the June 18 card headlined by the next round of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix including the return of heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem.

Monson Steps In To Face Cormier

Undefested heavyweight prospect Daniel Cormier (7-0 MMA, 4-0 SF) will get his stiffest career test to date when he faces 14-year veteran Jeff Monson (42-11 MMA, 0-0 SF).

Strikeforce officials recently announced the matchup, which takes place June 18 at "Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum."

Featuring a pair of quarterfinal bouts in Strikeforce's heavyweight grand prix, "Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum" takes place at American Airlines Center in Dallas and airs on Showtime.

Cormier made his pro debut in September 2009 under the Strikeforce banner. The former two-time Olympian has since fought three more times for the promotion, including a unanimous decision win over Devin Cole this past January.

With six stoppage wins in seven career fights, Cormier has picked up titles on the regional circuit in both the King of the Cage and Australian-based Xtreme MMA promotions.

Meanwhile, Monson carries an eight-fight win streak into the matchup. A veteran of the DREAM, Sengoku and PRIDE organizations, "The Snowman" also fought seven times for the UFC, including a November 2006 heavyweight title shot against Tim Sylvia. Monson lost via unanimous decision in a lackluster five-rounder, and he was promptly released from the promotion.

The American Top Team-trained Monson owns 26 of his 42 career wins via submission.

Carano fails to receive medical clearance, will not fight at "Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum

Gina Carano's (7-1 MMA, 1-1 SF) return to action will have to wait.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker today announced that Carano's "medical clearance was revoked," leaving her ineligible to compete in a previously announced June 18 contest with Sarah D'Alelio (4-1 MMA, 0-0 SF) at "Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum."

With the contest scrapped, a lightweight bout between K.J. Noons and Jorge Masvidal has been promoted to the evening's Showtime-broadcast main card.

"Following a medical examination yesterday afternoon, Gina Carano's medical clearance was revoked by her doctor, and consequently, she will not be able to fight on June 18," Coker today said on a media call promoting the event. "The timetable for Gina's return will be determined after further testing conducted this week."

Coker declined to give any details on the Carano's condition, but instead read a prepared statement from the female contender.

"I'm seriously disappointed not to be fighting June 18," Carano's statement read. "I'd like to thank Greg Jackson and Team Jackson for such an amazing camp. I hope this is only a brief setback."

Carano hasn't fought since an August 2009 TKO loss to current Strikeforce middleweight champion Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos.

Coker told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) the promotion has not yet determined if A'lelio will receive a replacement opponent, but he hopes to have more information as soon as today.

Featuring a pair of first-round contests in the Strikeforce's heavyweight grand prix, "Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum" takes place at the Dallas' American Airlines Center.

With the change, the full lineup now includes:

MAIN CARD (Showtime)

Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum (heavyweight grand-prix opening round)
Josh Barnett vs. Brett Rogers (heavyweight grand-prix opening round)
Daniel Cormier vs. Jeff Monson
Chad Griggs vs. Valentijn Overeem
Jorge Masvidal vs. K.J. Noons

PRELIMINARY CARD (HDNet)
