Street Masters Magazine mentioned Woodie (R.I.P Ryan Wood) within the latest issue and I just wanted to let the East Co Co Records fans know so they can pick up a copy.

With all the media coverage of the killings in Iraq, I wonder why then don't focus on the brutality right here in America more then they focus it in other countries. I feel for our troops over there because our government is using them and not giving a F*** about the fact that they are fathers, mothers, sons and daughters. I feel what they must be going through, but what about the people here in places like Memphis, Chicago, Detroit, Gary, Richmond California, Flint, and New Orleans? What about the childern that get hit by stray bullets on a daily basis-RIGHT HERE In America? Wheather the media wants to believe it or not, America is by far the most violent nation on the planet. It definitely extends to the rap game with the murders of Biggie, Pac, Seagram and countless others. Recently a really talented rapper from Michigan named Bone Skanless was gunned down. Bone worked with people like Jake The Flake, and the Dayton Family to name a few. Just before Bone was killed, I was talking to him. In fact he was gonna send me out his mixtape, and I waited and waited but it never came. I wanted to preview it before he dropped his album and would consider it for a review. Then I started hearing rumors that Bone was murdered, but it wasn't until Shoestring of The Dayton Family called me and let me know what happened thta I truly found out. It turned out that Bone was not only a very talented rapper but he was also very heavy into the streets. He lived a very violent life and got caught up on the other side of the barrel riddled with somewhere around 17 bullets. And it doesn't stop there....IN ANTIOCH, CALIFORNIA VETERAN RAPPER WOODIE, WHO I REVIEWED YEARS AGO IN MURDERDOG MAGAZINE RECENTLY DIED FROM A SELF INFLICTED GUNSHOT WOUND. WOODIE WAS ALSO A HUGE TALENT WITh ALOT OF POTENTIAL. HIS MUSIC, JUST LIKE BONE SKANLESS WAS CLASSIC UNDERGROUD "REAL" SH**. On top of that, rapper Johnny Cash from the Bay was just murdered too. I think he was part of Thizz-Which makes him another member of Thizz that was murdered. Remember a few years back when Mac Dre got shot and killed while he was in Kansas City? This is really f***ed up, but violence has always been a part of America. My grandfathers brother was into alot of sh** in the 20's and 30's and was killed by Al Capone's men on a botched hunting trip in Wisconsin. Violence goes back to the creation of the human being. It is in a human's nature to be violent. Before we walked the earth an animal only killed for food. Even something as ruthless as a shark has more morals than we do. We kill each other for a f***in' dollar! Growing up I was no saint myself, but I NEVER took a mans life! Unfortunately, I can't say that will stay the same for me because GOD as my witness, if my family or myself is in Jeopardy of losing our lives at the hands of another, I will do my best to kill first. It's no murder if it's self-defense of defense of your family. It's f***ed up that it has to be this way, but that is the honest truth. I want to end this by sending out my prayers to the families of Bone Skanless, WOODIE, Johnny Cash, our homie Sean Lasley (Worked For Street Masters Magazine) and anyone who lost a family member by the hands of another.
