I noticed that more gangsta rappers are startin to claim their actual hoods nowadays. I think that makes gangsta rap more believable. I remember when Deathrow was still in effect, did yall ever hear Kurupt claimin rollin 60's, and Snoop claimin 20's, and MC Eiht clamin..........never mind. I think that San Diego rap really changed the game on that. Cuz they're all claimin where they're from which is considered pretty gangster to me.

So why (just now) r rappers now claiming hoods in their music??

How does that make the veteran gangsta rappers look?

Dont u have to be in a gang to be gangsta?? Or is there such thing as a Solo Gangbanger?

i personally dont give 2 fucks if someone bangs or not.... just as long as they make shit that amps me up....... & sometimes i think set claiming on songs makes me not wanna hear it........ i mean.... i got dudes on tracks all over my record saying CRIP THIS & CRIP THAT...... am i affiliated? hell no...... do i know bloods..... hell yeah..... but i dont wanna offend them, being my friends too...... y'know?

i think another EAST/WEST rival should happen & this time, be a real one........ the west needs to unite..... fuck the hood repping.

but i also understand how a hogg gotta show hes got stripes..... so i guess i cant knock it.

whats bad, is you dont know shit!!!!!

its better when a nigga doesnt scream his shit out
it distracts from the real reason i listen...... talent!

snoop has been talkin about 20's for years
kurupt has said 60's in interviews (thats good enough, i dont need to hear "rollin all day")
it was better to find out that mc eiht was from tragniew by other means than his music

that shows he has respect he has rep, he didnt need to say where he was from in his raps
niggaz he fucced with made that clear

most niggaz that go around doin that are just trying to convince you somethin
cuz theyre talent amounts to nothin, so if they cant be good rappers
then theyll have to scare you not to diss them... (LOL)
Tray Deee is one of a kind, great rapper and certified banger

the only niggaz i cared about set claimin was the bangin on wax niggaz
cuz that shit was comedy
cesides that
who givvsafucc...i want music!

I don't know if this is for all rappers but up there in Sactown some rappers, X-Raided, C-Bo, Mr Doctor, and others have been claimin there sets since there first albums. and that has been since the early and mid 90s when Death Row was around.

If u were a gangsta rapper. Whether you're bangin your set or not and some random rapper makes a diss song about u, would u go do tha walk and hunt him down? Or would u just make a song about him saying that ur gonna do this and that, and let the shit go on for like 2 or 3 rounds (yukmouth/game).? I dont understand y rappers arent gettin killed or banged on with all the beef's hip hop has right now.

Actually, niggas have been reppin' their sets for a while, but back then it wasn't acceptable by record labels to be yellin' out sets. Death Row made it to where niggas can yell out "Cuzz" and other labels saw that it would still sell. Back in the day, it was more creative though. Snoop and them always made references to "Steeler hats" which is '20s. He always said stuff about 21st. CMW's first tape was blue. Threat was crip walkin in his video for "Let the dogs loose" and so on. But really it shouldn't even matter whether you band or not, it should be all about talent. We spend too much time thinkin' about the street credibility.
