Too many people be following trends and afraid to speak their mind and admit to liking something that perhaps the rest won't agree on.

Their favorite rapper could put out a DVD with him taking a shit and fools will prop and say it's CLASSIC!

BUT SERIOUSLY!

My main focus of the film is not to brag about making moves, show fights at shows, smoking weed etc. ..but rather give a real inside look at what it's like to be a underground rap artist. Yes, it's based in the 831, but the story is universal because it's happening everywhere around the world. It also shows artist not only struggling with music, but with life itself.

I'm talking to some County people out here in the 831 because they have gotten at me and are very interested in this project. It's something they didn't know was happening in our area. We'll see what comes of it.

Here is another trailer that has audio and gives you a better understanding of what the film is about.

This one here is an actual clip from the film.

All feedback is welcomed.

aye, brotha I commend you for this project. I ain't never seen something like this come from your area and I think its great you stepped to the plate. When it drops, count me in...I'll pick up a copy for sure.

Someone in San Jose did one for our area as well (Southbay Kingz) and all they got was a bunch of disrespectful comments about how they did it and how come so and so wasn't on it etc. Everyone had an opinion and a comment on how they "would have done it", but yet nobody ever DID IT. That person was C.T. of Rush Records and to this day, no matter what people say about the way it was done, who was on it or that it wasn't "up to par" with Treal TV etc. I commend that man for taking a step to change things and showcase this area the best way he could that others NEVER DID.

With that...again, I commend you. It's hard work doing stuff like this. Hit me when it drops.

I thank you for that, Bro. In filming this project I've learned a lot. The biggest thing to deal with was having rappers tone down. It's funny how once you put a camera in front of a rapper, he becomes an infomercial LOL!

The other biggest misunderstanding was getting them to understand while filming... that it wasn't about letting them shine. Direct questions & straight up answers. No bragging on how big your doing it, because if you were really doing it big? I wouldn't be filming you on this film about struggling artist.

I got well over 100 people on this project and it moves pretty quick. To where some people come out once for 15 seconds or less. And I let them all know that not all the footage shot was going to make it. I would only use what fits the film. Some thought it was segments on each and every artist.

I also got a few super star attitudes to where some called and wanted me to follow them to some show. And wanted certain backgrounds to where I had to explain this wasn't that type of film. They called back & ignored what I had to say, so I told them what they wanted to hear. And when they called back I ignored their phone call. I don't like that, nor am I going to beg for interviews. If I happen to be performing at a show or just happen to attend (on my own will) I will film, but I'm not following anybody like a groupie.

It's taken me a few years to film this project, but I've gone through some rough personal issues that cause me to stop and times. Like always, I jump back on the saddle. The Monterey County people (head honchos) have got at me and have screened it. They and a few critiques gave me a few tips on what the film was lacking, so I'm out filming the finishing touches. Yet, the film / story is already there.

I again, thank you Playa Rae for acknowledging the details and reading between the lines of what it's like to film an actual "film" and a real story to follow.

i can definitely relate to that statement. it's really hard to get people to pay attention to anything new in these days. it's rather strange.

i'll peep your documentary trailer later. it almost seem like people on message boards have an agenda to only talk about certain artists or something its bizarre. as soon as you post something original noone comments.

in a brief statement what might i find intriguing about this documentary. i've seen many bay area rap documentaries and many of them include wack content.

needs a diff. title imo, "street connect" might as well be "random unknown rapper footage complilation #234235"

if the shit is about struggling artists and their struggles as artists perhaps the title should reflect that?

props either way tho, looks like it took some dedication and focus

That thought has actually crossed my mind, Bro. It's under consideration.
