The owner of this store is a real cool older white dude that "knows the business real good" and he is down to support local artists and homeboy rap. I shot him some copies of Street Masters Magazine and had a conversation with dude and he said "he gets alot of homeboys into his store and they look around but since no homeboy rappers really solicit him to carry their music he has a very limited stock, but that he is down to carry their music on consignment or if they are distributed via a One-Stop to bring him in their 1-Sheet".
He also said the one thing about the homeboy market that he see's is that when homeboys come into his store and do see some of the homeboy music he carries that they say negative things about one another. He said they don't support one another. He said they will say things like "Dude sucks but wait until my cd comes out people will see that I am better then dude". He said if the local rappers support one another more then he can sell more of the music and there for can carry more of the music.
I think that the homeboys like Big Tone and Sav' It Out, Tito B, Dark Room Familia and Ect. need to go out to the Stockton area and hit up the store with a GRIP OF FREE PROMOTIONAL ITEMS and support dudes store. Thats what P.O.P is for giving out for free and it will bring the selling market to the store.
By the way, anyone purchase music from there? Or what about from this store?:
