is STL south or midwest?

reason im asking...cause i remember awhile back i was haveing a debate with someone on here....about STL being Midwest...and they said...it was Dirty South...

and i hear a lot of Rappers from STL...mainly your "bigger" named rappers (I.E. nelly, chingy, murphy lee...etc)...they always tryin to use that southern slang...

so wondering what you folks thought..

i still think they midwest..

Stl isn't the first or only place to call soda pop I been hearing that shit here since I was a baby. Every city in the MidWest or a fact the World has country muthafuckas. Nothing is different except the landscape and a name. Niggas kill me when they say my town is different from the rest.

I have always known home to be THE MID-WEST. Never considered the South. And we say Soda....not Pop. I never heard of Pop untill I went up to Northern Indiana near Gary and in Chicago. At Burger King they had Pop on the sign....thats fucked up. I guess we talk country.....we have that Mid-West accent.
