So I got done reading the Steve Jobs book yesterday that I got for Christmas. It's a pretty great read, I would suggest to you fools that like to read or even to folks that don't. (I am not much of a reader)

Anyway, I never really paid attention to the Apple vs. Microsoft, Closed vs. Open battles of computers.

Even thought Steve Jobs clearly did a lot of people wrong and was an Asshole to many people, he was a genius. You have to respect that about him........

Anyone else read(ing) this book?

I think he was just a good business man and a GENIOUS at marketing. His innovations should be credited to his LSD trips back in his hippy days. lol

was he a genius or a good business man?
I am going to say both. Calling him a "good" business man is an insult. He created Apple, then lost it..........then brought it back not only compete with Microsoft but to totally leap frog them in an industry Microsoft was dominating. He was a Great Business man.

I say he was a Genius because he saw Technology in a different light than other people saw it. Yes he admits that the drugs he took helped him view Pixar as unique. He was 50 Million dollars in the hole at Pixar (bought it for $10 million from George Lucas) and flipped it to Disney for 5 BILLION dollars.

Yes, he would go weeks without a shower because he thought eating fruits and vegetables did make you stink.

He was wrong of course.

Funny to hear the stories of how many Executives would see him and say he stunk and had bad hygiene, but they knew he was smart so they gave him opportunities.
