As ya'll probably know, bay area veteran Spice 1 has been working on his new record The Rydah. It's been pushed back several times, due to label politics. Now, as Spice 1's label Thug World Entertainment is up and running, he is just working out a distribution deal to release it, look for the record around October. It will feature the likes of Yukmouth, Kurupt, Goldie Loc, Dru Down, Kokane and production by Wyno, Rick Rock and Battlecat. After the Boo Yaa TRIBE record, this is the second time Battlecat and Kurupt got togeter, this time for the track Thug World, which is a kind of anthem for his new label. I got the chance to shortly speak to 'AmeriKKKaz Nightmare' about the record, and when compared to his last album, he said that "This one will have more tracks, Spicerberg Slim only had 14, this time around we put 16, 17 on there, we'll have some interludes like on my old records, it's gone be gangsta!. When asked about the subject matter of the LP, he replied "It's gonna have a bit of everthing, it's not one certain subject, one track can make you laugh, one make you cry, make you horny, make you angry, it's varied!.
If ya'll didn't know, Spice 1 is also in a new group, the GAME Bangers, consisting of Spice 1, Rappin' 4-Tay and 40 Glocc, with Bad Azz as a close affiliate. They have been recording for that record, and it should come out on Thug World Ent when it's done. "I'm just getting this shit popping, and making sure Thug World is the only label that can release shit with my name on it! Gotta make sure no one else drops no Spice 1 shit! It's gone be hot though!".
