This one's gonna go down for real. The Scarface show got cancelled because of politics and lack of local support.
Or was it because they scheduled it in a venue that was obviously too large for the artists (because let's face it...none of them cats are pullin' in any Paramount sized crowds anymore) and the pre-sale ticket sales were terrible?

Or maybe it was because it's starting to become clear that NOBODY around here knows how to promote shows anymore? Standing outside of a couple clubs and handing out 5,000 flyers is NOT promoting a show. Doin' a couple KUBE commercials a week before the show and the day of the show is NOT promoting a show. There are alot of so-called promotions companies around here that are giving Seattle a bad name and I know SEVERAL major venue owners around town that are gettin' sick of the bullshit. I've heard them say flat-out that they're not goin' to deal with anymore of these bullshit "local" promotions companies.

Same reason for Mariah Carey's show cancellation. No promo = bad ticket sales = WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY FOR ARTIST! They called it a "scheduling conflict"....lol....YEAH RIGHT! That's just like how Usher never came here....why not?

Seattle has become a "B" market and it's sad. I'm connected to damn near every major internet message board and group there is...and I RARELY see any of these cats promoting these shows on there. Even on MySpace...I'm on the friends list of these cats who are supposed to be promoting these shows and they don't even send out bulletins about them. I'm like WTF?

The shit is a joke. Unfortunately nobody is laughing...except maybe the rest of the country at us.

I was very disappointed to hear this shit got cancelled. It seems more shows in the Town get cancelled then actually happen, probably for the reasons D Sane listed. If that shit about Sealth and the concert being 18+ is true, I don't even know what to say.

If you're talkin' about the Scarface show at the Paramount then it was more than likely an all ages event. But let me spin it this way......

How many high schoolers are serious Scarface or Spice 1 fans?? Half of them kids probably barely even know who them guys really are. A show like that would appeal more to cats my age than some high schoolers.

Seattle hasn't become a "B" market for any type of music other than hiphop/rap. For other music it is one of the hottest markets and shows that don't sell out otherwise on nationwide tours (and I'm talking about both independent artists playing the small venues and big artists playing places like the Paramount and the Showbox) sell out fast here.

That's the truth. I go to a lot of rock concerts at all kinds of different venues in Seattle and they are almost always packed or sold out. Even on weekdays.
