Yeah that program goes really deep according to what details say. I dunno though, I like to use my various VSTi synths for all synthesized sounds, they seem to do the job just fine. Ain't this program more sample based? Spectrasonics Trilogy seems really dope, that's one I wouldn't mind to get because it's hard to find good bass sounds, especially electric guitar bass.

yeah its sample based but not no punk samples.....each one is in between 30-100 mb each...the sound library is 3gb......thas what makes it sound so good.....its the best plug in ive used so far along wit the ReFx nexus which is also sample based.......i used to think v station was tight but this is a lot better as far as presets go.....

Yeah I'm sure they sound REALLY good. You have to consider they are probably soaked with FX as well though, as most synth sounds sound weak when too dry. As far as synths go, I personally prefer to go more with realtime synthesis, such by using synths like V-Station, Vanguard, Pro-53, Synth1, MinimoogV, Minimonsta, Z3ta+, ToxicIII, Hydra, Albino3, Korg Legacy Collection,etc..... There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to tweak pre-existing presets, create your own and apply your own FX. However, if the sound I'm looking for is more acoustic based such as an acoustic guitar, electric bass, piano,... I definitely will prefer a sample based engine as that'll give you more true realism.

you can tweak these sounds...they mix samples with synthesis technology i beleive.....and you can add any fx you want wit other plugins too......theres not even really any realistic instruments on it....its full of synths, leads, pads and ambient textures and FX,....that Korg Legacy Collection has more natrual sounds like you mentioned......jus cuz it says sample based dont mean the samples are guitars and pianos....they can sample synths too ya know.....

Yeah I know that bro. I think you mis-understood me. My point was that I personally prefer to use sample based programs of this nature, for realistic acoustic sounds instead of for synths. Reason being, is because I don't care for sampled synth sounds since I can create them myself in realtime using synthsis. I just don't see the point in using a sampled synth lead or synth pad, when I can pop out one of my dozens of VSTi synths and create them myself with realtime synthsis, then bounce to audio if I wish. Now acoustic sounds like guitars and pianos, I would rather use sampled based shit since synthesis ain't as good for that. Now something such as Spectrasonics Trilogy, I think I would rather get because basses such as acoustic and electric ain't as easy to come by or emulate with synthesis. Whatever though, I have Hypersonic and it's pretty good, it has synth sounds as well, I just don't use it that much for synth sounds though because I personally like fucking with realtime synthesis better with other VSTs.

Yeah, but my point is that Synths are Synths. Those sounds from Spectrsonics Atmosphere came from synth keyboards/modules just like those various VSTi plugins. You can't judge VSTi plugins by their presets. V-Station for example comes with some pretty basic sounding presets, but you can enhance them and morph them into other shit of course. It's how you use them, the tools are there. That's cool though, I'm glad your happy. It just ain't my own personal preference to use sampled based synth sounds when I can create them myself with realtime synthesis.

Is this really possible..I mean..if its a vst can it be a real synth like your saying?

Well, what I mean is I will rather create the synth sound myself through synthesis, than use a sampled based engine. However, I WILL rather use a sampled based engine for realistic acoustic sounds such as a Guitar, Piano, percussion,etc... A VST such as MinimoogV for example is a real synth, it ain't physical, but it's still real, your working with Waveforms, filters and such, it's virtual analog synthesis and your creating the sounds in realtime just as if it was a Nord Lead or Access Virus hardware synth,...

can you create a track with lets say 12 tracks..all different instruments including drums..and while the sequence is playing can you tweak the filtersand such..lets say on the minimonsta vst..without latency..and can you record a track where it records all the midid data of every tweak you did in real time?

yes.....latency depends on the system though....

Spectrasonics Trilogy is a MONSTER. Just got the program under a week ago, it's REAL nice. Highly recommend it. Haven't checked Atmosphere yet but Spec. got some real solid soft synths / modules so I'll have to check it out.
