yeah its sample based but not no punk samples.....each one is in between 30-100 mb each...the sound library is 3gb......thas what makes it sound so good.....its the best plug in ive used so far along wit the ReFx nexus which is also sample based.......i used to think v station was tight but this is a lot better as far as presets go.....
Yeah I'm sure they sound REALLY good. You have to consider they are probably soaked with FX as well though, as most synth sounds sound weak when too dry. As far as synths go, I personally prefer to go more with realtime synthesis, such by using synths like V-Station, Vanguard, Pro-53, Synth1, MinimoogV, Minimonsta, Z3ta+, ToxicIII, Hydra, Albino3, Korg Legacy Collection,etc..... There's no reason why you shouldn't be able to tweak pre-existing presets, create your own and apply your own FX. However, if the sound I'm looking for is more acoustic based such as an acoustic guitar, electric bass, piano,... I definitely will prefer a sample based engine as that'll give you more true realism.
