Spanish television actually captured a bull in literal flight hurdling the arena’s safety barrier and engaging the spectators in the stands.
The half ton beast from Ana Corera de Larraga Ranch injured 30 to 40 people before being captured an killed. Most injuries reported were minor, but a few victims were seriously injured and still remain hospitalized.
You can imagine the panic that shook this small arena in Northern Spain when spectators watching in amazement first realize the bull was amongst them. Several people were severely injured after being either trampled or gored by the out of control animal. According to reports from the scene the bull, named Quesero, had attempted several times to leap the outer fence. No one expected the relatively calm bull to hurdle the inner fence however.
As you can see spectators clamor in terror as their worst fears become reality. Talk about extreme sports, bull fights are supposed to take place inside the ring. Just so the reader knows too, this type of incident is actually extremely rare. Bulls do often hurdle the initial safety barriers, but almost never the inner circle of protection.
Seriously though, one young boy is still in serious condition with stomach wounds in the wake of the incident, while another spectator suffered a crushed vertebrae. Our thoughts are with he and others who were injured, of course.
