Wut up everyone. Im tryin to cop a few albums by a couple different artists, and I was just wondering how many of ya'll are up on soulseek. Now, I know how to use it for the most part and all that, but im kind of hesitant. I downloaded from it before and I love the feature where you can get full albums, but somewhere along the line I got a bunch of files that I must have not noticed in folders that I didnt want on my shit. I probably shoulda just gave a quick runthrough of the folder I was downloading from instead of just assuming it had the files I wanted in it and clicking it, but I guess thats a lesson learned. Im just tryin to get a few albums that have either gotten lost, broke, scratched up or that kinda shit that I dont have no more- and I was hoping I could get a few usernames so I could get to choose from people I (idealy) trust. Good lookin out with the usernames.

mainly, im tryin to get some Bone Thugs, Common, Gang Starr, and a couple others. I also have DSL, and I was hopin to find the most quick connection speed among users.

on that note jose, there are probably a dozen artists in the past 3 months that i have bought albums from because i dled their album. without soulseek (which has more underground hip hop than any other dl program) i would have never even heard of these artists.

DL all you want, but if you like the album, support the artist(s)

hey i'm just curious, to anyone who makes money off their own music.... how do you feel about people who make mediocre music(there's so many)? would you buy one of their albums?

umm you download it.
with so much bland music being made, its hurtful to the industry i think to support the so-so's and below, wouldn't you say? too bad thats so subjective
or maybe i'm wrong. maybe its best to be supportive of everyone because the good ones will shine in the end anyway?

well 5000, I buy music "whenever possible" but I straight have no income at all, except the bullshit weekend job that covers my car insurance and nothing more. I dont know what its like to just live in income from music, because I dont make any music. Whenever possible I will pay for it, but the bottom line is I am a poor muthafucka. And even if I do bump burned CDs sometimes, Ill still buy the artists merchandise.

its just like going to a resturaunt and having dinner and not tipping the waiter/waitress...

most them jobs....thats their income..
....so to not tip them is bullshit..

now i can understand....when you have "terrible" service...
but lets say you have "mediocre" service...

what do you do?

you still tip..

its their way of living..
