seriously the first few minutes sickened me with his demeanor and lack of hip-hop knowledge.....But if need be, let the clip buffer and fastforward to around 4:30....Dude does make a point.

3 Centuries... so Ice T is over 300... Soulja Boy a damb genius... did this dumb shit finish high school yet.. guess not.... but he don't need to anyways.. He stupid as f***... I guess thats where he gets his lyrical genius.. Superman Dat Hoe... Soulja boy knows nothing about hip-hop history....

What ever... I care less.. Ice T ain't gonna sell..... nobody buys Gangsta Rap... unless Ice T gonna go soft and make some Lil Wayne, D4L, Soulja Boy... Laffy Taffy, Crank Dat, Lolli Pop shit... I doubt Ice T gonna sell more than 50,000.... and thats being generous.

He makes no kind of point especially if he's talken to ICE T he basically says "I had no cash so decided to fuck up what you helped build to get rich so I deserve respect?" This kids ego is too much......

Isn't Ice-T a self proclaimed "pimp and playa" tho? If so he sure is hatin on that kid.

Point is, Soulja Boy isn't hip-hop. It USED to be that all was lumped into one genre but now there are MULTIPLE genres in rap music. For 16 year old kids now, he makes sense. Times change man. When I was 16 it was all about Public Enemy, Rakim, E40, Too Short etc etc....But it's a whoooole different world in 2008. I can't hate dude for making something of himself.

But if you're 30 years old and buyin a Soulja Boy CD, there's somethin' wrong with ya

There are not really multi genre's in hip hop it's now all just a marketing tool and Soljaboy is a cog in the wheels. His brand of teenie bopper bullshit is the reason the real shit goes unnoticed cats younger than solja boy and way more talented with a message in their music can't get a deal because companies only want weak ass dance music. It isn't anything new though there has always been soljaboy type little bitch's remember kriskross? Its just now thats all there is the real shit has been pushed out almost completely. Hip hop is looken like disco in 1980 right now.

back in the day in hip hop if you was a graffiti writer and you were accomplished, and you saw a new dude coming up that wasnt that good, you would take to him and mentor him on style and you know, how to do the shit right. then dude takes the newfound tips and shit, practices and practices and one day becomes good enough to mentor someone himself.

and i think he made a great point with that. if ice-t truly wholeheartedly feels these guys are ruining what ice t so passionately wants to keep alive and creative...he could have made a call to souljah boy and been like look man im glad u makin your money, you made it now...but you got a responsibility as a mc to do certain things in honor of the ones before you..maybe souljah boy woulda felt him...and wed be listening to newer, more creative southern rappers being coached by legends...that was a great point and unfortunately ice-t, as much of a legend as he is...didnt even think of that

ice t has to feel a little stupid at the end of the day, og or not..possibly the most ignorant statement ive ever heard the man make

That's the difference man....Hip-Hop and rap are different. It didn't USED to be that way but it is now. "Teeny Boppers" want music to listen to and are big consumers so it just makes sense. Alot of consumers don't WANT OR CARE about a "message" in the songs they listen to. Not all music needs to have a message.

Of course I agree there are WAY more talented cats his age makin shit. But he's doin pop music. I don't recall ever seeing him claim to be "hip-hop". There is music for the clubs and then music for the headphones....real talk

BTW u mentioned that alot of cats won't get deals because of pop music....Underground music doesn't or shouldn't rely on "getting signed"....There are plenty of groups (Hiero for an example) that have flourished without help from a major label.

Sorry, but I feel Ice is wrong this time...there are hundreds of artist/Rec execs that should be blamed for the "fall" of hip hop before the blame even REACHES SB...Ice T lost this one IMO...I agree with SB and for his sake, im glad he said it...everyone is so quick to point the finger, but nobody want to teach anymore or help...I guess Ice's show on VH1 about teaching the lil kids to rap was what hip hop needed...Come on Ice, you're bigger and Better than this...

lol @ SB saying about Ice T hating Cops but later takes a HUGE role as on in a nationwide and respected TV show(which is one of my favorite shows BTW)...
