Something I Noticed About Woodie

I remember a while back someone asked Woodie what catagory his music was (i.e. gangster rap, chicano rap, bayarea rap, black rap), and i think he said he was just makeing homboy music or BayArea Rap, but i think he did say it WAS NOT CHICANO RAP LOL :classic:

Well anyways i cant speak for NorteCali but here in Las Vegas when ever i got buy Woodies raps at the swaapmeet they always have him in the ChicanoRap section....... I also remember going to OrangCounty one time and we went to some swapmeet and they had some eastcoco stuff and yet agine it was in the ChicanoRap section........ :eyecross: Also when i bout Lou-E-Lous cd and i think NE4 the Korian guy who sells the cds said "ahhhhh he bery goott, yess beryy goott Messsican Rap" LOL. Then theres the scraps at the big outdoor swaapmeet who also sell woodies shit, they sell nothing but ChicanoRap cds they keep there best sellers in a locked glass case and they have Woodies shit in there to......... I dont know if im looking into it to much but as far as southern Nevada an southern Cali people seem to look at his rap as ChicanoRap because he is speaking of a fourm of ChicanoLife..........

i think people who label him and Mr Capone E that are just trying to appeal to a Chicano crowd and indiscriminately sell the label "CHICANO" and are probably unaware of the racial difference to begin with

I really don't care. I caught into Woodie by overhearing some little Enes badmouth him for being white while one of them was defending him. So curiously I stumbled onto Northern-ridaz listen to Yoc Influenced and proceeded to buy anything from ECCR. And Leader Capone-E aint chicano? Oh I guess I went off topic, but I guess they Label him Chicano cuz he's a Norte rapper and because their really isn't any other place they can put him in. I mean we may have chicano rap but what's the difference between that and "Black Rap?" Both are art forms and if you're just going to exploit/discriminate someone because of their race then you're an idiot.

The differince is that Most Chicano Rapers target a only Chicano adiance by useing the raps in Spainglish lol... while black rap targets every one but it speaks of there lifestyle....... Just how Norte rap mostly appeals to Nortenos, not to say non-bangers dont listen to it because they do but it mostly appeals to Notenos....

Nah, I see what you mean. But Black Rap and Chicano Raps are basically the same. They rap about cars, weed, blasting fool, gangs. And I think that many people might actually stray away from Chicano's rapping because it's labeled or just targeted to the Chicano community.

^^^Real Talk, its not gangster rap cuz that would fall back into the Blood Crip black gang thing. Wich most gangster rap is, and he aint no Chicano rapper even though he rappes about a form of Chicano Life. Its just WOODIE RAP i dont know what to call his rap, because hes not trying to act Mexican or act black hes just doin what he knows best, being him self. I was just tripin because every one who sells his Rap seems to put his cds im the chicano rap section (at the swap meetsanyways). And i wanna know what every one else thinks.........

Arabian, but they labeld him as chicano rap because he raps about a mexican way of life (Mexican Gangs). Its kinda like Woodie not hispanic and just rapping about a mexican life style (Norteno Gangs).........
