summa that stuff is 4 another class.....
but that other class shares alot
of the same cirricullum as that 1
usually,if it has a red dot 2 the
right of the PDF download in the 1st column
(thats the class i was in)
then we covered it......
but i cant say that cuz theres a good amount that
DOESNT have a dot 2 it but we covered......
we had n class projects with process cameras,
color keys, ect ect that u wont find there as well....
it was like 1 of the 1st classes i was posed 2 take when i was n school
4 the 1st time 4 a year but didnt,
that 1 class xpanded my knowledge on
everything n the field like 2000%..........

since u already covered that shit......
it wont juss be the art alone that catches ur eye,
the LITHOGRAPHIC presses they use are from the 1800s...
only 12 of them left n the world,
6 of them n FRANCE...
and the other 6 @ their location here n VEGAS....
they do every color plate, drawn by hand

but what all did u guys cover this past semester @ ur school?

a lot of stuff was briefly covered... but we covered typography, proof reading, different file formats for the different programs, a lot of page layout (all in PageMaker, aparently folks don't use In Design up here enough to teach it yet) some scanning work, and a very brief intro to Illustrator, most of what it looks like you're class covered is a different department that I didn't take but I'm starting to wish I took some of it (the pre-press area with the cameras and such) We covered some of the history of things and how to use type and leading and kerning and all that good stuff. There's probably more I just can't remember it.... I'll check out that site though

we had the whole history of printing covered
VERY THOROUGHLY as well......
from the early paper & writing from the CHINESE,
to GUTENBURG inventing printing to modern day methods.....
everything n typography.............
most of our material was the history & basics of printing,
and graphic production processes.....
like developing film in a dark room as well as color key films
that can be used under yellow (not bright, white) light....
cameras........we also learned LAYOUT in PAGEMAKER......
but it was only 2 assignments that we used it
& ive been learning INDESIGN on my own....
when we did the color-key assignment he briefly covered scanning
it looks like we covered juss bout everything yall did....
only it didnt have the hands-on xperience
with the materials my class had....
besides....with technology the way it is now....
with the corporations pushing everything digital
& more & more folks goin to COMPUTER-TO-PLATE pressing....
film will be all about dead n the next few years......
with xceptions 4 people who still choose 2 use it as an art medium
but im glad i learned it, could help with a job that still uses it......
and its always good 2 know history of past methods & how 2 actually do them
if i needed 2 i can go in a darkroom now
& photograph my artwork, set up the sink,
mix all the chemicals in their seperate bins,
develop it.......then strip the film & ready it 4 plate creation
