suck as in miss the NCAA Tournament = NO

suck as in won't win the Pac-10 = YES

depends on your definition of the word, people use it really really loosely sometimes

i don't know why you think its being used loosely

its pretty cut and dry - huskies lost to the cougars at home - what part arent you understanding or are you in denial?

Most people would probably agree that a team ranked 10 (even though I would agree they are overrated at 10) does NOT 'suck' when there are some 180+ D1A basketball teams out there. Sometimes people just look at the small picture i.e. the teams they see on Sportscenter, the teams they see on national TV all the time.

This team is not great, nowhere near as good as last year. But they will make the NCAA Tournament, and please do not say that they suck if they make the tournament because then you clearly have no connection between this program and the not so distant past, and would sound really really spoiled.

They're making the tournament, please indicate whether you feel they will make the tournament so that we can have a discussion that is not centered around the definition of the word "sucks"

Well at least you admit theyre not that good. Yes they will make the tourney, but more based on the recent success of the program in recent years rather then the overall team success. Beside Roy, this team has holes and needs its young talent to mature very quickly in order to go far in the tourney. Doesn't help that 1) most of the talent left, 2)Jensen is coming off injury 3) depth is non-existant.

i'm basically being an asshole fucking with you huskies fan

When you say something concrete, low and behold we agree! It was all about the definition of the word sucks.

I am cool because this program was in the gutter four years ago, it is going to take another 10 years of sustained success for me to not feel good about a UW basketball team that is probably going to make the tournament. Seattle fans have to stay grounded, we're the most oppressed fans in the nation other than Cleveland or arguably Philadelphia. So I stay grounded if it's the last thing I do.
