...And I must say it was a wild ride from start to finish. After beating this game I can see why it was rated so high. The story is off the hook, the gameplay is fantastic, the voice overs are excellent, the sound is top notch and the enemies are sick. Whats even more sick about this game is that any loose ends you may have are actually answered when you beat the game and play as Ada during her sidequest. An example of this is when you play as Leon and the zombies hear the bell toll. I always thought it was the Main boss who summoned them by ringing the bell, but after I played Ada's quest, I now know who really rang the bell. If you own a PS2 or GC you need to cop this game asap. The game looks AND plays like a movie and you won't be disappointed.

just think about how tight the first 3 RE's were (mainly 1 and 2), and then DOUBLE that... and thats about how good RE4 is. Its unlike any of the others, the entire camera method is different. Its not in a house or a city as a matter of fact.

its fucking crazy how good it is though

I just beat that game too, well actually 2 days ago. But i dont think i got the special ending, cuz in the movie manager selection, the last ones blank...did u get the bonus ending, if it even has it? Besides the fact that leon sounds nonchalant as fuck throughout the entire game, its great.

i played i think Resident Evil 1 or 2 something like that for PS2 and ive never played another Resident Evil game again!!

all for these reasons:

1)Waaaaaay too scary for me
2)Didn't like story
3)Didn't like gameplay
4)Didn't like characters
5)Didn't like the image/background of it [too dark & gloomy]
6)Didn't like sounds/sound fx

this is all in my opinion so dont hate me for this.

It took me 28 hours, but that was because I often left the game on when I left the room. I can say I probably would have beaten it in around 22-24 hours if I had not done that. No, I didn't use a walkthrough because I was never stuck in areas for very long (although some of the puzzles had me stumped.) Also, I feel walkthroughs take away from the playing experience when you haven't beaten the game yet.

@Carnage187 I have one spot that says "no data", but it isn't even close to the end. I think the blank spot is in chapter two or three. I'll watch the movie manager again and peep it.

I'll just say that I've always hated the Resident Evil series.
I mean I love zombies and gore, the games had great stories along with good graphics. But I could never get into the games because of the awkward and clunky controls. They gameplay was just horrible.
It was very frustrating to me to sit there on the side lines hoping that one day someone could do zombies their well deserved justice.

After hearing all the hype behind RE4 and especially after hearing that it converted a lot of new fans to the series;
I just had to give the game a shot.
Resident Evil 4 was the best game of 2005 hands down!
Finally there was a playable Resident Evil game :)
Thanks to Shinji Mikami who took over the Resident Evil 4 project.
He totally flipped the gameplay and made it fun instead of a chore as was the case with previous games in the series.
Shinji's now putting together RE5 for both the PS3 and X360.
There's a trailer for the game floating around the internet, you might wanna check it out....

i hated all of the resident evils up to this. i decided to check it out after i heard nothing but good things about it and i am glad i did. i could not stop playing it from start to finish. it was one of the best games i have played in recent years. id have to say that even if u hated all of the other resident evil games, you should at least give it a rent.
