Just got my acceptance letter today. Gonna keep it local and go to University of the Pacific (student loans, here I come!) for my MBA, with a concentration in Finance.

I am pretty pumped. Its been pretty wild getting all the stuff you need for your application. Had to track down all my transcripts, write two essays, and the worst of it, take my GMAT. All in all, I think this is going to be awesome for my career, and believe it will get me the higher quality of life I am looking for. Maybe not right after I graduate, but after 5-10 years of experience, having that piece of paper will definitly help me.

So that's whats up. I am sure most of you could care less, but it means a lot to me, so I thought I'd share it with my siccness folks.

Good shit, I need to take my ass to school/college...

dropping out of high school = my dumb ass move.
surprisingly, its easy to pull yourself back up...
just go to community college, a lot of bullshit classes in order to get up to the level w/ credits, but really its just like an extra year or so depending on how early you dropped out.
)
i got my exto get his h.s. diploma before it was too late, if you aren't too old you should look into that as well, it looks better than a GED, he went through work corp., and got his shit done in less than 6 months, but he could have done it faster if he wanted but he was lazy (what a surprise!)
my bf now also dropped out, but he's goin to community college, and just has to take a lot of easy classes to get up to par.

don't get overwhelmed by the bullshit, and just stay focused.
lol, i'm plannin to either be a teacher (or counselor) so if you got any questions, no joke, i'll help ya out, i've learned so much about requirements and different programs you can do..

and i've been pushin a couple of my friends to get their GED or h.s. diploma through the work corp program..

OH YEAH, and greg, lol almost forgot about you, good job man, UOP is a good school! whats your masters degree gonna be in?

man, I really appreciate the kind words from everyone. Good looking out from everyone.

I'll be getting my masters in Business Administration, MBA for short. My concentration will be Finance. I am hoping to get into Investment Banking, although thats a long shot. I would be extremely happy with Commercial Banking. And if the Banking Industry is still in the tank by the time I am getting out, I can look at Corporate Finance.

Good shit greg...I remember when you were just getting started with the whole process....how did you do on the GMAT?
TO HELL WITH THAT GMAT! Man, that thing was the most intense thing I have ever taken. I ended up doing okay on it. I scored a 560, which is not too bad, but definitly could of been better. I was aiming for 600+. My GPA was a little on the low side as well. I really think my recommendation letters I got is what pushed me over the edge. Got a really good one from the VP at my last job. The process IS a bitch, and I am glad to be done with it.

Once again, thanks for the words from everyone. I am happy, but at the same time, know my life will be hell while I am in it. No pain no gain though.
