Slaps vs Mobb Music?

So I have two playlists on my ipod, one is "Slaps" which contain some Philthy Rich, Keak da sneak and so on, My mobb music playlist consists of alot of the 90s mobb music along with current mobb music like C-Dubb, AP9, E-40 and so on. My question is when deciding where to put what, how the heck do you determine where to put the damn song. To me a slap, if it slaps, can be qualified as some mobb shit as I would bump it in the ride. Anyone shed some light on this?

"mobb era" it was a time... you can try to remake it. You'll need some live bass, and throwback synthesizer. Using a old triton, mo phatt and some phat live bass lines = mobb

using new vst's and all the latest shit, and faster pace more synthy = slap

Ya true but you got young cats now calling shit "Mobb Shit" and to me its a slapper. Shit got me thinking and I kept gettin more an more confused. Mobb shit is qualified as a song with deep funk and or deep hard hitting bass lines. Well shit then pretty much near every DJ Fresh song is a mobb song right lol.

Mobb music is still being made so explain that one? IE C-Dubb, AP9, APT 3, and so on. Some people still do produce this sound but thanks for the definition.



So what I gather from all this so far is Slaps should be kept bay shit like Keak da Sneak, J.Stalin, Philthy Rich and so on

Mobb Music should be kept as some C-bo, Lunasicc, Killa Tay and so on. What about E-40 and say Tech N9ne, to they he can qualify as both or what?

its about eras and sounds. a sound can try and be re-created, but the era cant.........

damn see ya I agree with you. hmm well shit lol. Oh and I am an 80s baby so I was around for the 90s mobb era. But ask around and people will say mobb music never left! But as most say, the sound has changed. Closest I have heard to that 90s sound would be C-Dubb and some E-40 tracks but that could just be cause I dont have much time for music anymore with a family.

I agree. To me mobb shit consists of the 90s era of Too Short, Ant Banks, E-40, B-Legit, Mac Dre, Mac Mall, C-Bo, Killa Tay(u) lol and more! But when you get music now that to me "Slaps" hard like some C-Dubb, It sounds like mobb shit and im like well shit its not that 90s era but its a good attempt to keep it alive so what the hell do I qualify it as?

It's more then music so niggas better quit tellen MOB until they hills at me or one of the MOB generals about this shit !!! Like Killa Tay said.....
